Ivy Tech Community College History:
• Created by act of legislature in 1963 - Indiana Vocational Technical College
• In 1999, named as partner with Vincennes University in “community college
system”. Name changed to Ivy Tech State College
• In 2005, named Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana. Mission of
workforce development and transfer to 4-year public institutions
• One statewide system, 14 regions, 23 campuses
• Fall 2012 statewide enrollment of 180,000 headcount

Ivy Tech Transfers:

• In 2002: 34 students transferred 498 credits to 4-year university
• In 2010: 1,149 students transferred 18,342 credits to 4-year university
• 2002-2010: 3,652 students had transferred 60,044 credits to 4-year
university, for a savings of $13,630,000
• “Hoosier Link” program: 452 transfers; 74% retention rate
