How Does One Become a Committee Head Rep????

Info

When : End of September or beginning of October. Where: New teacher advisor’s room after school during the board meeting @ 2:45 – Don’t be late! Who: The board will decide who receives the position. What to expect: Come with concrete ideas as to how you will execute your position next year and some ideas that will improve GHSKC overall. Each candidate will be asked a minimum of 2 questions pertaining to their position will be executed this upcoming year and their qualities as a leader.

Some Tips Come prepared: Everyone will have a better time and enjoy your interview if you come prepared! Evaluate yourself: Know what your strengths and weaknesses are and use them to shape how you want to command your position. Work on your presence: If you are able to speak clearly and effectively, that will work well in your favor. Be passionate: Why do you want this position? How will it benefit your home school and community? We take these positions very seriously and we want you to as well.

  What Positions Are There?

Advertising/ Public Relations:

• Work to advertise all events • Work on member recruitment • Come up with creative ways to

advertise events • Managing social media • Outreach to school and community • Work with the webmaster and editor

to effectively outreach        

A good example of a creative way to advertise!

Fundraising • Host at least one fundraiser a month • Responsible for helping raise funds

for club and community • Orchestrate at least one DCON

fundraiser a semester • Work with secretary to document

how much we spend and raise • Work with treasurer to manage

funds raised • Work with Service Project

  What Positions Are There?

Service Projects • Plan at least one each month • Make sure district service project is

complete • Make sure divisional service project is

complete • Makes sure ELIMINATE service

project is complete • Work with Fundraising Head Rep. • Work with Advertising to spread work

about events • Establish connections with other

organizations

Transportation • Able to coordinate rides for those

who do not have them • Assemble list of possible drivers for

each event • Set times for getting on the DART

whenever needed • Keep track of those who drive others • Coordinate rides before event occurs
