Commercial Cleaning Estimating Training Guideline

with MeasureSquare Commercial Edition

1. Download a trial version of MeasureSquare Commercial Cleaning Edition

Follow the link provided (or copy/paste to browser):

2. Setup product/service database with a sample cleaning database

- If Commercial cleaning edition is downloaded and installed, the default database should be configured properly for commercial cleaning. Otherwise, follow next step below:

- From File/Upload database & setup, then click Download Database and Setting to download sample database, use account ID: C1010, download code: download_cleaning_database

3. Import floor plan file

- Click on Import PDF or other file types, at preview windows, select floor plan pages to be

brought into MeasureSquare

- Set plan scale by using existing dimension, or annotated plan scale. If no annotated plan

scale, import the plan, right click over plan image, and select Set up scale by picking two

points to set up the scale

- Verify plan scale after importing

4. Takeoff room areas

Trace rooms and areas with different surface types and traffic patterns

- Use Draw Rect for rectangular shape areas

- Use Freedraw for any shaped area

- For curves, connect two end points and convert them into arc after closing it

Use floor divide, or takeout for areas with different traffic patterns), and specify surface cleaning

type and traffic pattern by dragging the spec item on the left product and services panel

5. Estimating to get SF quantities for each areas

Tap to Estimate tab to calculate SF of each room area and traffic patterns

6. Export worksheet data to Excel (to be used in bid template)

8. Set up and change product services database

Product and services database can be configured to match cleaning business practices. From File,

database menu, then select Product and Services Database.

9. Next stage, bid document generation & scheduling, project management solution in

Floorlink.net

From system setting, under Floorlink.net, enter your account ID, password, and corp id. So

estimation data can be uploaded and be used in generating a bid document (using MS Excel

template).
