The year 2014-15 is an important year in the

History of Al-Ameen College , Edathala, as the

college achieved the milestone of NACC

accreditation.It was the realization of a long

cherished dream. The Accreditation by

National Assessment and Accreditation

Committee,for Al-Ameen family is not a mere

achievement, it is the fruit of a long, tireless

effort andmanifestation of a strong vision.

Al-Ameen College officially put up for the

process of accreditation with the submission of

the Letter of Intent to the UGC office,with the

wholehearted support of the Manager, Dr.

JunaidRehman, the talented leadership of the

Principal Prof. K.M Abdul Karim, the

energetic IQAC Coordinator Dr. Anita Nair

and the acumen of the IQAC joint Coordinator

Dr. CiniKurian.The teaching and non-

teaching staff were divided into seven teams.

Each team was assigned the herculean task of

collecting, processing and analyzing the data

required for each of the seven criteria

compromising the self-study report.As the

name suggests, the report showcases the

pulses of the college and its mission and

vision. Preparation of the report requires

precision and unmatched skill for detailing. As

usual, the Al-Ameen family was more than up on

to the task and a soft copy of the SSR was

uploaded on the UGC website followed by three

hard copies that were sent by Post in May 2014.

UGC Office has given official acknowledgement

of receipt, and subsequently, thelong awaited

event happened, the confirmation from UGC that

theNAAC peer team would visit the college on

th5 January 2015.

Once Again, the Al-Ameen familypledged do a

frenzy of activity ; files and records updating,

final round campus beautification, maintenance,

exhibitions, people coordination, process flow

finalization..etc,…the list was never ending.

thFinally, on 4 January, 2015 the NAAC peer

team arrived. The team comprisedof three

distinguished official delegates from the higher

education community. They were Prof. D.

Harinarayana ; Pro-Vice Chancellor; GITAM

University, Dr. P. A. S. Naidu; Principal;

DhoteBandhu Science College;Maharashtra and

Prof. M. K. Jha; Professor& Dean; Dr. B. R.

Ambedkar National Institute of Technology -

Jalandhar

The NAAC Peer team arrived at the campus on

th5 January morning,with a rousing reception

with salute from the College NCC team .The

meetings and presentations of the Principal and

the IQAC carried out in quick succession. This

was followed by a visit of exhibition arranged to

highlight and showcase the milestones and

achievements of the college and its various clubs

and cells. They inspectedthe facilities, verifying

c l a i m s , c h e c k i n g r e c o r d s , n o t i n g

achievements, visiting offices, departments,

research facilities and laboratories and

interacting with all the stakeholders - the

management, staff, students' parents and

alumnae. The peer team very much impressed

by the cultural extravaganza put up by the

students and they congratulated the students

on the wonderful performance.

The team was so professional and efficient in

their assignment At the exit meeting on the .

third day, they remarked that they were very

much impressed by the college's performance,

and they were especially touched by the

warmth of the Al-Amen family.

PARENT TEACHERS ASSOCIATION

The first PTA General Body meeting

presided over by Principal Prof K.M Abdul

Karim started on 17.6.2014 in the seminar rdhall. Parents of the 3 year students attended

the meeting. Prof Jose T. A, Prof Safia C.K,

Prof Anita Nair and Prof M.B. Sasidharan

spoke during the meeting. Prof Abdul Hakim

delivered the vote of thanks. After the formal

meeting, Departmental meeting of parents

with the tutors was held at the respective

departments.

The second PTA General Body meeting was convened on 21.6.2014. Adv.T P M. Ibrahim Khan, Chairman, Al Ameen Educational Trust presided over the meeting. Mr. K. M. Shamsudheen, Trustee, Al Ameen Educational Trust talked about the progress achieved by the college. Trustees Mr. K. M.

Hamsa, Mr. A.A. SiyadKokker and Prof. Muhammed Thahir also spoke on the occasion. Principal Prof. K M Abdul Karim handed over the memento to Dr. Cini Kurian as a token of appreciation for achieving Ph.D. degree. Parents of 2nd year and 3rd year students attended the meeting. New office bearers of PTA executive committee 2014-15 academic year were elected. Dr. A.B. Aliyar Administrative officer, United India Insurance company, Aluva was elected as the Vice President and a fourteen member committee was also formed thereafter.

The first PTA meeting of the First year students joined for the academic year 2014-15 was convened on 30-07-2014.The meeting was presided over by Prof. K M Abdul Karim, Principal, Al-Ameen College. PTA Vice-President, Dr. A B Aliyar, IQAC co-ordinator Dr. Anita Nair and the Heads of the departments of Chemistry and Commerce were also present on the occasion.

RED CROSS UNIT

Red Cross Unit of the College organized a seminar on the topic "ROAD SAFETY” on 14.10.2014 in the Seminar Hall. The objective of the programme was to give awareness to the students about the importance of obeying traffic rules. Mr.Affan (I B.Com

Computer Application) welcomed the gathering. Prof. Abdul Karim (Principal, Al-Ameen College) presided over the function. Mr.Adarsh Kumar, Joint RTO, North Paravur was the resource person. Dr. Dino Varghese felicitated the gathering.Ms.Ameen (II BCom Taxation) delivered the vote of thanks.

Raise Your Voice, Not the Sea Level:

Environment Day Celebration

To prove our commitment towards nature and environment the NCC th

unit of the College on 5 June 2014 observed the World Environment Day in the campus. To throw light into the catastrophes caused by sea rise and climate change, the NCC unit organised an exhibition on the theme 'Small Islands and Climate Change.' Cadets planted saplings to rise up to the ideal of a green campus. K. M. Abdul Kareem, Principal Al-Ameen College, was the chief guest.

To show the commitment towards national unity and to uphold the values of freedom and independence won painstakingly by our brave freedom fighters, the NCC unit of the College celebrated the Independence Day in the campus. Dr. Junaid Rahman (Manager, Al-Ameen College) hoisted the flag and gave the Independence Day message. He also checked the guard of honour and received salute from the cadets. Both NSS and Red Cross volunteers along with the hostel inmates, teachers and alumni members participated in the function.

The NCC Enrolment for the academic year 2014-15 was held in July. Battalion Commanding Officer and Army Officers were present during the recruitment. After thorough inspection by the officers 38 students were enrolled as new cadets.

The Youth Red Cross Unit of the College, in association with Red Ribbon Club, organized a seminar on the topic “Drug Abuse among Youth” on 12-02-2015 in the Seminar Hall. Dr. Jacob Mannaraprayil Cor-Episcopa, State President, Drug Prohibition Council was the resource person.

The Red Ribbon Club in association with Youth Red Cross Unit organized a seminar on “Positive Speaking” on 13-01-2015 in the seminar hall. The objective of the programme was to enhance the positive attitude among students. Ms. Aseera P.A, Lecturer, KMM College of Arts and Science, Thrikkakkara, was the resource person.

The Red Cross members of the College participated in the one

day leadership training camp, Red Energy 2014 for Students

Office Bearers of Ernakulam District Youth Red Cross held at

Rajagiri College of Social Sciences Kalamassery on 16-12-

2014. T R Ameenaand Aslam Sakheerof our College won the

second price in the debate competition organised as part of the

programme.

Malayattoor Trekking Camp 2014-15Cadets IjasSabeel and Akash of II BSc Petrochemical participated in the trekking camp organised by

The NCC unit in association with all the Departments of the College conducted a rally to create awareness against Aids

ston 1 December 2014. Cadets, students and teachers marched from the College campus to Kompara Junction and back carrying placards and shouting slogans against the spread of this disease.

With an objective of maintaining peace and harmony inside the campus the NCC unit and the NSS unit of the College jointly conducted an anti-ragging campaign inside the campus on 24-06-2014. The Unit also initiated the formation of an anti-ragging squad comprising of both teachers and student volunteers to curb any untoward incidents inside the campus.

NSS Unit of the College celebrated Independence Day in a befitting manner. Manager Dr. Junaid Rahman hoisted flag and gave the Independence Day message. He urged the students to uphold Indian culture and to protect Indian freedom at any cost. Principal Prof. Abdul Kareem also spoke on the occasion. NSS Unit has organized an Orientation Programme for newly enrolled NSS volunteers on 15-08-2014. The Resource person was Prof. Satheesh Potty from D.B.College. NSS Unit of Al Ameen College observed the AIDS Day on 01-12-2014. ANTI- AIDS TREE campaign organised as part of this programme bloomed in our campus with the students expressing their feelings against AIDS. They wrote on the paper leaves which were hanged on the Tree. There was a rally also. It was organised in association with the NCC unit of the College. Principal Prof.Abdul Karim flagged off the rally.

Students Join Hands Against Drug AbuseIt was a promise from heart as students of Al-Ameen College joined hands against drug abuse on 05-08-2014 and vowed that they would never abuse drugs as local MLA, Superintendent of Police, Principal and teachers proudly watched. They added that if they notice drug abuse by their friends, they will inform the police in no time. Prof. K M Abdul Kareem administered the oath as local MLA, SP and Panchayath president joined. The programme was conducted under the anti-drug campaign held as part of Clean Campus Safe Campus project, jointly organized by Al-Ameen College Anti Drugs Cell, NSS Unit and Kerala Police Department. "The so-called new generation films are trying to misguide students and if their minds stagger a bit, they are prone to slip to danger," said Anwar Sadath, MLA, inaugurating the function. Sathish Bino, Ernakulam Rural SP, delivered the keynote address. Biji George, Nodal officer of Clean Campus Safe Campus Project and DCRV DYSP, V K Sanal Kumar, DYSP, Aluva, AMM Muneer, Panchayath President, Edathala, P A Faizal, Sub Inspector, Aluva East, Professor T A Jose, P M Abdul Hakeem, NSS Programme Officer and Abdul salam, Anti-drug cell convenor spoke on the occasion. Advt. A K Sreekanth led the awareness classes for students.

The functioning of Anti Sexual Harassment Club started officially from 23/09/14, inaugurated by Mrs. Bobbey Raphel . The participants were welcomed by Mrs. Kala.N, Convenor Anti-Sexual Harassment Club. She voiced that despite Kerala being a fully literate state, the number of sexual harassment cases have increased at an alarming rate with over 700 cases per month. The speech was followed by advocate Mrs. Bobbey Raphel who explained about the different laws and regulations of the state and about the different amends made by the government to protect women and children from sexual abuse. She gave away examples from different cases handled by her. The views and experiences of the students and other faculty members were also shared in the seminar. The seminar concluded with a message by the convener that “Women and children have the right to live with dignity". Regeena.K.P, faculty member of the club delivered the vote of thanks.

Anti-Ragging Committee organized “ANTI RAGGING AWARENESS CLASS” on 22-07-2014. The programme was inaugurated by Prof K.M Abdul Karim, Principal, Al-Ameen College, Edathala. The class was taken by Dr. Anil R Nair (Assistant Professor, NUALS, Kochi). He spoke on the importance of anti-ragging cells in institutions to avoid cases of harassment and abuse of students. The class seemed to be very interesting, and the interactive session at the end proved to be of great benefit to the students.

LITERARY, DEBATE, QUIZ CLUB

Anti Drug CellNSS unit of Al Ameen College conducted seven day

special camp at Al Ameen College of Medical th th

sciences, Edathala from 20 March to 26 March

2015. The camp was inaugurated by Mrs.Bindu

George, Vice president, Ernakulam District

Panchayath. Pro K. M. Abdul Karim, Principal Al

Ameen College presided over the function. After the

inaugural session a motivation class was organized.

The class was lead by Mr.Benny Mathew, JCI

Trainer. After the lunch seminar on “Scientific Waste

Management” was conducted by Pro, Dr. Jagadeesh

Kumar, Professor, Kerala Agricultural University

On third day 22/03/2015 NSS Unit in association

with general Hospital, Ernakulam has organized a

Cancer detection medical camp. Dr Junaid Rahman

Manager, Al Ameen College Edathala And former

DMO inaugurated the medical camp. The

NSS SEVEN DAY, SPECIAL CAMP FROM20/03/2015 TO 26/03/2015

registration for the medical camp has started on

9.00am. Expert doctors from General Hospital have

attended the camp. 104 people from the locality have

got the benefit of the camp. In the afternoon session

Personality development camp was arranged for the

volunteers. Mr.Sajeev Dev was the resource person.

On 23th March we have organized Road cleaning

Programme. Volun tee r s en thus ias t i ca l ly

participated in road cleaning; They have cleared all

the wastes on either sides of road in front of our

college. Other important activities in this special

Camp inclues, cleaning of Cheepungalkulam, a

public pond in Edathala panchayath, which is used

for drinking water for the public. Debates, seminars

and awareness programmes on various topics were

conducted. The seven day special camp closed on th26 March. Sri. Rahan Raj, former president,

vazhakkulam Block Panchayat inaugurated the

closing ceremony.

1. DOCUMENTARY SHOW ABORTION VS

AMBITION

The Couselling Cell organised a screening of the

documentary Abortion vs Ambition was conducted at the

College on 24-09-14 at the seminar hall to give awareness

about the social and emotional aspects of abortion.

Smt.M.Revamma led the class. It was followed by an

interaction session.

1. REPORT OF ORIENTATION FOR

FRESHERS

The Counselling Cell organized an orientation for

the first year students of Al-Ameen College,

Edathala on 16-10-2014 . The programme was

conducted with the objective to provide an

induction to the first year students to acquaint

themselves with the new atmosphere in the

college. The programme was presided by Prof.

K.M. Abdul Kareem, Principal, Al-Ameen

College, Edathala . The Resource person of the

programme was, Dr .T.O. Paulose Former H.O.D.

Rajagiri College of Social Science

1. PSC COACHING CLASS

The career guidance cell of our college conducts

competitive examination coaching to motivate our

students. As a part of this a PSC Coaching class was

conducted on 08-10-2014 The class was conducted by

Mr. Polachan (PSC trainer). He discussed about the

reasoning ability section, which is a main factor of the

PSC examinations

CAREER GUIDANCE CELL

Tata consultancy conducted a career guidance seminar on

09-10-2014. This institution begins, The Gyan Nidhi

Scholarship to provide scholarship assistance for deserving

meritorious students for the career oriented professional

programmes in latest technologies.

1. CAREER GUIDANCE SEMINAR

The placement Cell of Al-Ameen College has conducted training programme on 18-09-2014 regarding higher education and job offers at abroad. The gathering was auspiciously guided by resource person from canon consultancy. It was a valuable session which made students aware about the wide scope in education and best job offers available.

Campus Recruitment The Placement Cell organised a Campus Recruitment on 24-06-2014 in association with GEOJIT.

A Placement Training For Final Year Students

The placement cell of the College conducted a training programme on 26-06-2014 for the final year students. The session was guided by Mr. S Balakrishnan, Trainer, Edugate.

He divided the whole students into four groups, each group were asked to develop a product and to market it. . Skill Development Training ProgrammeThe Women Cell of the College organised a Skill Development Training Programme in association with PAMS- a sewing school from14.10.2014 to 28.10.2014 in the College. It helped the students learn the theory and practice of drafting, cutting and sewing of their own garments. It also provided a platform to express and enhance the creativity of students. A group of 20 students possessing sewing skills were selected from the 4 aided Departments of the College and they were allotted 2 hours after the regular working hours. A 5 hour class was arranged on Saturday (18.10.2014). It also provided an opportunity for students to express and enhance their creativity along with a medium to earn livelihoods. These programmes offer a viable vocational option too.

The Nature Club celebrated world Environment Day on 5-06-2014. The teaching staff of Al- Ameen College, Edathala whole heartedly participated in the programme and planted herbal plants inside the campus. The seminar was inaugurated by Professor Mohandas B. Menon, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Wawasan Open University,

He also delivered the keynote address,'Assuring Quality with increased Access and enhanced Cost- effectiveness in Rural Higher Education.'The keynote address set the tone for the entire seminar as it diagnosed the whole relation that affected rural institutions. The need to improve student qual i ty, and add infrastructure but make the whole attempt cost effective was the main point discussed.

Prof.VasantBhat of the Regional College of Education( Under NCERT) Mysore University was the first resource person. His talk on the 'Role of ICT in the Uplift of Higher Education,' covered the changing scenario of education in which ICT was an integral part. Dr. Mary Matilda, Professor, Albertian College of Arts and Sciences, Kochi & Rtd Principal of Maharajah's College , entertained the audience during the afternoon session with her humorous yet thought provoking advice on ' Student Motivation: Means and Methods. Drawing from her vast experience Dr. Mary Matilda pointed out the need to establish a personal rapport with each student. A paper presentation session ended the day which was chaired by Dr. Nirmala Susan, Principal of Jai Bharath College of Education, Perumbavoor.

The final session of the seminar was handled by Prof. Y. Azeez Ahmed, Special Officer, Al-A m e e n E d u c a t i o n Tr u s t , A l - A m e e n Campus,Bangalore. The title of his talk was 'IQAC, the Nucleus of NAAC, to build Quality Culture in Higher Education.' This session coveredthe various outlets that could be taken up as areas of promotion and skill development.The final paper presentation session was chaired by Dr. John Abraham of Bharat Mata College, Thrikkakara. About 25 papers were presented and a total of 170 teachers participants in the two day seminar

Outcome of the seminar

The seminar covered various points relating to Higher Education which were related to quality enhancement through related factors such as motivation, increased access, and student participation.The thought provoking nature of the topic was clearly demonstrated through the paper presentations that covered three wide areas that supplemented and elaborated on quality enhancement in Higher Education.Academic excellence and related matters were stressed on in some papers. How academic excellence could be improved on, the relevance of project based learning, the importance of external agencies such as NAAC or the Education Commission in systemizing quality as well as the need for a teacher to grow into a psychologist were topics that developed this theme soundly.

The secon dsection of papers dealt mainly with the social relevance of quality enhancement in the field of education. Poverty eradication and rural development through education, early marriage and the contribution of family, preservation of innate culture and spirituality as an essential component of education were solidly presented. The growth of Information technology as an indispensible component of Higher Education was evident in the multitude of papers that were presented relating to the topic. The topic of ICT enabling education for differently-abled students was a well accepted paper. Film and the social media as incentives in teaching as well as the negative side as seen in social network addiction were related topics that were crisply presented. Knowledge management , multimedia, e-learning , green ICT and data- mining applications also emphasized the predominance of information technology in higher education.Outcomes of the Seminar

· A wide-ranging outline of quality enhancement methods in higher education was presented.· New avenues for improving quality, particularly in rural areas by utilizing natural resources, were discussed.· Innovative ICT methods of teaching were put forward.· A comprehensive outline for student motivation and teacher enhancement was suggested.Feedback;The feedback from the participants regarding the seminar as a whole, the level of information disseminated through the talks of resource persons and paper presentations as well as of the hospitality offered was mainly positive.The function concluded with the distribution of certificates, followed by the National Anthem.

The Department of English organised a “News Reporting Practice” at the College Language Lab on 1.10.2014. Students actively participated in the activity and it helped the students to improve their skill in news reporting.

News Reporting Practice

The Department of English Al-Ameen College Edathala conducted a mini documentary production programme on 8.10.2014 in the Language Lab. The programme was inaugurated by Bisha E Y, HOD, English Department. The lecturer-in-charge Seethal George delivered an introductory speech. Following that students were given opportunities to create individual mini documentaries along with scripting, recording and editing process.

The Department of English conducted the inauguration of certificate course titled "A Basic Direction towards Journalism" on 10.10.2014 at the Seminar hall. The course was inaugurated by the young poet Sobin Mazhaveedu, winner of Kumaranasan Kavyapuraskaram 2014. Bisha E Y, the Head of English Department, delivered the presidential address. Ms Seethal George, lecturer in-charge, gave an introductory speech about the course.

The English Department Association was inaugurated by the famous poet Sobin Mazhaveedu, who received Kumaranasan Kavyapuraskaram 2014on 10.10.2014 at the Seminar hall. Principal Prof. Abdul Kareem gave the presidential address. Mr. Albin Antony felicitated the programme. In the afternoon session students staged various cultural programmes.

English Association Inauguration

The final year students of English Department undertook an industrial visit on 13.10.2014 to Manorama News Channel and Mazhavil Manorama atAroor under the guidance of Department Head Bisha E Y, Mr. Viju P V and Ms. Seethal George. During this visit the students got an opportunity to learn about the processes involved in the production of various programmes and practices followed in news broadcasting. They also learnt the technical aspects of broadcasting and variety of designs and innovations used for production. Being the students of mass communication, media production planning and scheduling activities were found interesting by the students. Head of the Editing department discussed the rules & regulations relating to news casting and news production management. It gave the students an opportunity to explore the possibilities of becoming a media professional.

Inauguration of Tourism Association The inauguration of the Tourism Association was

held at the College Seminar Hall at 11.00 A.M. The chief

guest of the day was Mr Shaji Keloth, from GVHSS,

Kunnupuram.The function was presided over by Prof. K M

Abdul Karim, Principal, Al-Ameen College. Following his

presidential address, the chief guest lighted the lamp. In his

inaugural address, he inspired the students to become

environmentalists who would be assets to the Tourism

Industry. The function was highlighted with cultural events

by our students. The function concluded with the vote of

thanks delivered by Mrs Vidhu Binny, HOD, Department of

Tourism.

A cycle rally was organized for the students of Tourism. The theme of the event was tourism & community development. The purpose was to generate ecofriendly efforts and public attention towards tourism. The rally was started from Aluva palace at 10.30 A.M, flagged off by Mr Vijayan, circle inspector. All the students actively participated in this program and travelled about 7.5kms with placards. They were received by Prof.K.M Abdul Karim, Principal and other teaching staffs at the college portico.

Tourism Day celebration was held on 29.09.2014, Monday 10.30AM at the college Seminar Hall. The chief guest of the day was Sri. P Rajeev , Member of Parliament. Prof. K M Abdul Karim, Principal welcomed the gathering. The session was presided by Prof. C P Babu, Principal, Mar Osthatheos College, Trichur. He was the Tourism Club Co ordinator of Trichur District for five years. His speech was very stirring and encouraging to the students. Sri. Rajeev , M.P lighted the lamp and gave his inaugural address. Sri. A T C Kunjumon, Kalamassery counselor and Mrs Abida, Edathala Punchayath member are the other guests of the program. The program concluded with cultural dance and vote of thanks. After the formal session the exhibition stall was opened . Students were encouraged and supported to come out with innovative ideas. They presented Incredible India, selected seven states of India, in separate stalls giving all information's of the state in detail. The stall was inaugurated by Prof.

FESTIJOSK M Abdul Karim, Principal. They wore traditional dress and costumes, one male and one female of each state. Various handicraft items of the states were displayed. Another working model was Shimla Kalka railway, a narrow gauge railway in North-West India which is known for dramatic views of the hills and surrounding villages. A presentation was also displayed simultaneously to show the actual working of the railway. Al Lailathul Arabia , a desert night with the glimpse of Arabian culture, food and beautiful Arabic sceneries at its best was set. Sri. P Rajeev, Member of Parliament inaugurated the model. The students served Arabian dishes to the guests. Snow World, a snow capped mountain, was primed by the students. Prof. C P Babu inaugurated the model. The snowman and the low temperature increased the ambience of snow world. There was a picture gallery also. Another working model, a Chinese fishing net, colloquially known as Cheenavala, was prepared at the college entrance.

Students visited School for the Blind at Keezhmad on 09.10.2014. The school provides primary and secondary education to visually impaired students. This was an eye opener visit and it helped the students to know the problems of the visually impaired kids. They could understand how these kids are educated at the school.

Department of Economics has organized workshop on 22-09-2014 “PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT” on TEAM BUILDING. The workshop was conducted by Jithu Tharoor and B.Krishnakumar from Junior Chamber International (JCI). Workshop started with a prayer. Prof Abdul Hakeem, HOD of Economics Department has welcomed the guests. They motivated the students how to face the problem and solve it as a team. The students were divided into groups and given some tasks. Based on the performance of the students in the groups team leaders were selected. The programme helped to raise confidence level of our students. In the final session students shared their feedback. The department of economics conducted a seminar on share market on 23/09/2014 at the seminar hall of the college by 11.00 A.M. The programme started with a prayer. Is a leading retail financial services company in India .Dr,Vijayakumar started the seminar with the intriguing question- How do I make money investing? Since he is an investment strategist, he provided information on the various investment opportunities in Indian stock markets. He also briefed the students and faculties about the capital market and its

various instruments. He explained the terms such as liquidity and profitability in a very simple manner understandable to the students, par t icu la r ly th rough h is power po in t presentation, he elaborated on stock market, stocks, shares, securities and stock exchanges. He hinted on BSE, NSE, CSE etc .he forwarded a wide range of investment products and services which will help us to take wise investment decisions. He explained about efficient market hypothesis. He showed the success of entrepreneurs such as Indira Nooyi to prove his theory. At the end of the seminar he did an online trading demo to explain the profitability of investments in different stocks, shares, binds, securities etc at the final phase of his talk he

showed the live online trading through Geojit and amassed the audience .students were thrilled to know the actual practical on line trading process and the speed by which its value and volume changes within seconds. The resource person started the session by urging the students to set high goals in the life and visualize it in dreams. He told that it is the fear that prevents the growth. Department of Economics has arranged a visit to Prathyasa Bhavanam-an orphanage situated in M a l a y i d a m t h u r u t h , E d a t h a l a o n S a t u r d a y 01/11/2014.Aim of the visit was to create a feeling of compassion for others among our students so that they could extend a helping hand to those who are suppressed ad marginalized in our society. The students were accompanied by Prof.Abdul Hakkeem ,HOD and Prof.Shaniba.M.H. We have purchased grocery and some other items which is necessary for inmates in daily life. We handed over to mrs. who is regarded as the mother of all the kids there .Our students spent more than 2 hours with the children. They played with them and shared their experiences. The children were so happy and our students were so satisfied as they got an opportunity to think about others.

It started in 1905 and is now a fully automotive factory.The tea museum preserves the aspects on the genesis

and growth of tea plantations in Kerala. The museum houses curiosities, photographs and machineries, depicting a turning point that contributed to Idukki's flourishing tea industry. different process through which the tea is processed were witnessed by the students at various stages of the tea processing such as Crush, tear, curl - and learn about the production of Kerala black tea variants. A section of the museum also houses classic bungalow furniture and office equipment of the Colonial area in Kerala, model of rail engine operated in 1924..The.They also acknowledge the history of Munnar by going through the history of tea gardens in Munnar. The department of Computer Science organized a Seminar on Android Application Development on 27.02.2015. The venue of the seminar was the new Computer Lab of our department. The Department of Malayalam organised a film festival to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of the legendary filmmaker Charlie Chaplin.The festival offered the students an opportunity to witness Chaplin's mastery in filmmaking. Introducing the films, Dr. Anwar Abdullah, renowned film critic and Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at the Malayalam University said that Chaplin's films were the mirrors that reflected the woes, pleasures and angst of the society. The heated discussions carried out by the participants were loaded with information and deep concern for the greatest threat all living beings face now-a-days. classes started with 30 students from various

classes. Boys and girls are joined for the course.

Our guest faculty Mr. Kuttappan is taking

classes for the students from morning 7.30 am

to 9.30 am. Holotic Yoga is basically' a system

of self treatment according to the yogic view,

diseases, disorders and ailments are the result

of faulty ways of living, bad habits lack of

proper knowledge of thing related the

individual life and improper food. It is very

difficult to explain the root course of diseases

may be due to the lack of proper diet, lack of

proper exercises, lack of hygienic care, due to

poor health similar other factors in our country

affect both male and female of all age group the

most disheartening aspect of the disease that it

does not be cure through medicine when it is in

chronic stage it is very common exercises to the

patient. Since the Holistic Yoga is not yet well

known to the medical practitioners they do not

physical Education promotes our students to

maintain a Healthy Life and to practice yoga in

their daily routine, while doing yoga practices the

person can stay away from various diseases.

OBSERVANCE OF 'WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY'Department of Physical Education along with NCC, NSS and Nature Club observed

th'World Environment Day' on Monday, 5 June 2014.

College Football Team: Al-Ameen College, Edathala

Department of Physical Education had formed

a club called “Al-AmeenAtheletic Club”with

the main objective to find the best Athlete from

Al-Ameen College, Edathala. The club had also

given importance to launch an Add on course in

“Holistic Yoga Therapy” in the college. This

course was sponsored by UGC.On Saturdays

and Sundays the Department of Physical

Education organized various friendly matches

“Al-Ameen Atheletic Club”

with neighbouring institutions and clubs.

In the year 2014-15, the department

conducted various intramural sports and

games competitions like Football, Cricket

and Volley ball. In Athletic Competition,

the Individual Champion from the gents'

section was Mr Muhammed Faisal and in

women section Miss. FathimaSarhana

Department Of Physical Education Organized “run Kerala Run”

thProgramme On Behalf Of 35 National Games Conducting By Kerals State. This Programme Was Arranged By Government Of Kerala In All Over Kerala From Our College 315 Students Particpated. Our Principal Rf Abdul Kareem Prompted The Pledge To The Students Flag Off Ceremony Done By Sri J B Siyad Kokker (al-ameen Trust Secretary And Manager, Al-ameen International Public School Edathala.

thØ On 5 December 2014M.G University conducted, “Best Physique Competition” at NEW

MANS COLLEGE THODUPUZHA. In this competition, our student Mr. Abishad P.A stood First place and got Gold medal in the above 90KG category. Around four candidates participated in this group.

Mr. ABISHAD ALI P.A is also going to participate inter university competition at the end of this month.

thØ On 4 Jan 2015 Inter University conducted, “Best Physique Competition” at Pujnab.

In this completion, our student Mr. Abishad P.A stood Forth place in 90 kg category.

st stØ 1 year M.Com Student Mr. Abishad Ali P.A got 1 price (gold medal) in above 80 kg

association and 3 year B.Sc. Physics student Mr abilash k.r cot 1 place (gold medal) in st nd60 kg category junior. Mr.Abdul Dilshad 1 BTS Student got 2 place (silver medal) 1in

75 kg category junior.

Ø On 2014 Ernakulam District conducted, “Best Physique Competition” at Ernakulam In this completion, our student Mr. Abishad P.A stood first place in 90 kg category. He is selected for state Level Competition.

Ø Mr.Abhishad Ali P.A (1 year M.Com) secured silver medal in Kerala state body

building championship Competition held at Thrissur on 28rd January 2015 in 90 kg

category. He is selected for national level competition.
