’est dans le cadre prestigieux d’une salle de bains Art Déco entièrement
imaginée par Volevatch que se révèle toute la créativité et le savoir-faire de
notre maison, sur fond de romance librement inspirée et mise en scène en
hommage au grand écrivain F. Scott Fitzgerald.
Dans le soir qui s’annonçait, le soleil semblait se répandre en action de grâce
sur la ville. Le vent était tombé, libérant les voix de la nuit, une nuit lumineuse,
rythmée de sonorités jazzy d’où émanait la promesse d’une tendre rencontre.
Cette ville est toujours la ville du premier jour, dans son immédiate et violente
promesse de renfermer tous les mystères et toutes les beautés du monde.
It is within the prestigious setting of an Art Deco bathroom, entirely imagined
by Volevatch, that all the creativity and know-how of our house has come
to fame; against a background of romance freely inspired and fashioned in
homage to the great writer F. Scott Fitzgerald.
The evening gave out, and the sun seemed to spread as thanksgiving on the
city. The wind had dropped, releasing the voices of the night; a bright night
with jazzy rhythmic sounds, exhaling the promise of a tender meeting. This is
still the city of the first day, in its immediate and violent promise to contain all
the mysteries and beauties of the world.

’il était assez sage pour ne pas s’encombrer, d’âge en âge,
de rêves oubliés, il était bouleversé par le miracle de cette
rencontre. L’attente de la revoir l’habitait depuis si longtemps, il
l’avait si souvent imaginée, du début à la fin, dans ses moindres
détails. Ni le feu ni la glace ne sauraient atteindre en intensité
ce qu’il enfermait à cet instant dans les illusions de son coeur.
De tous les humains, elle était celle qu’il désirait revoir avec le
plus d’urgence.

qu’elle enfila une des ces robes du soir dont elle savait le pouvoir
envoutant sur les hommes... Sous le tracé audacieusement redes-
siné de ses sourcils, elle se regardait droit dans les yeux. Son visage
était tendre avec de beaux éclats, l’éclat du regard, l’éclat brûlant
de ses lèvres. Il y avait en elle quelque chose de magique, une pres-
cience suraigüe des promesses de l’existence. Elle sentit pendant
un moment qu’un mot cherchait à prendre forme dans sa bouche et
ouvrit les lèvres, comme muette, sous la pression d’une force bien
au-delà d’une simple respiration et qui cherchait à s’échapper.
Purified by a saving bath, she dressed with extreme sensuality in one
of her nightdresses; she knew its power of bewitching men… Under
the boldly redesigned layout of her eyebrows, she looked straight
into her own eyes. Her face was soft and radiant: the brightness of

It was the time of metamorphosis and the atmosphere
was gradually laden with a slight exaltation. He looked
at her in a way all women hope they will one day be
looked at. He muttered a few words in her ear; she
turned to him transported by emotion. This voice bound
her above all, with its rousing inflections, captivating,
for none of her dreams could have imagined anything
more beautiful. This voice was a chant of immortality.
She exhaled a vital energy, like an ember in the ashes,
a strain of the body ready to ignite. They had never
felt closer harmony, deeper understanding, than at
that moment where the musical vibrations of his voice
forced her to lean against him. Then, his gaze gradually
got lost in the velvet dusk.

’était l’heure des métamorphoses et l’atmosphère
se chargeait peu à peu d’une légère exaltation. Il
la regardait d’une façon dont toutes les femmes
espèrent qu’on les regardera un jour. Il lui murmurait
quelques mots à l’oreille, elle se tourna vers lui avec
un transport d’émotion. Cette voix l’attachait plus
que tout, avec ses inflexions exaltantes, envoutantes,
car aucun de ses rêves n’aurait pu en imaginer de
plus belle. Cette voix était un chant d’immortalité. Il
émanait d’elle une énergie vitale, comme une braise
sous la cendre, une tension de tout le corps prêt à
s’enflammer. Jamais ils n’avaient éprouvé d’harmonie
plus étroite, de compréhension plus profonde qu’à
cet instant là où les vibrations musicales de sa voix
l’obligeaient à s’incliner vers lui, puis son regard
s’est perdu peu à peu dans le velours du crépuscule.

idèle à son devoir de mémoire et à l’influente fascination d’une époque sur ses contemporains,
la Maison VOLEVATCH relève le défi d’éditer – dans les règles de l’art - une collection de
robinetteries typiquement Art Déco, utilisant un répertoire géométrique stylisé, aux volumes
parallélépipédiques constitués d’angles droits et vifs, dans une exigeante unité de style.
Sublime et respectueuse d’un mouvement artistique universel - célébré à Paris en 1925 lors
de l’exposition internationale des Arts Décoratifs - cette nouvelle collection rend fidèlement
hommage au symbole de puissance et de géométrie orthonormée du style Art Déco qui demeure
aujourd’hui encore l’archétype sacralisé des proportions équilibrées et massives empreintes
d’une certaine virilité dont le skyline de New York en est à jamais le plus édifiant exemple.
Défenseur inspiré d’un savoir-faire typiquement français, Serge Volevatch ne souhaite pas
s’arrêter, cette fois, à la seule création de robinetteries d’exception mais bien à la poésie d’un
lieu dédié entièrement à l’art du bain des années 30. Ainsi, vasque en marbre de carrare massif,
baignoire généreuse émaillée, luminaires striés et miroirs stylisés viennent élégamment
compléter cet ensemble monographique dont l’agencement savamment scénarisé rend ici
un vibrant hommage à une époque féconde empreinte d’intemporalité.
True to his duty of memory and to the heft fascination of its times and his contemporaries,
Maison VOLEVATCH takes up the challenge of editing –within the rules of art– a typically
Art Déco collection of plumbing fixtures, using a stylized geometrical repertory with plane-
parallel volumes made up by straight and sharp angles, within an exigent unity of style.
Sublime and respectful of a universal artistic movement –praised in Paris in 1925 during
the international exhibition of Decorative Arts–, this new collection is a true homage to the
symbol of the power and orthonormal geometry of Art Déco style, which remains nowadays
the sacred archetype of balanced proportions and massive prints of a certain virility in which
the skyline of New York stands as the most enlightening example.
Inspired supporter of a typically French know-how, Serge Volevatch is not willing to stop
now to the sole design of exceptional plumbing fixtures, but to go further into the poetry of
a place entirely devoted to bathtime (art du bain) of the 30s. Thus, massive Carrara marble
basins, a generous enameled bathtub, streaked luminaries and stylized mirrors complete
elegantly this monographic set, where the skillful layout renders a glowing homage to a
fruitful period imbued with timelessness.

le doit à la mémoire encyclopédique de son créateur Serge Volevatch et à sa passion immodérée pour
l’art du bain. Ainsi, plus de dix années de recherche et des heures de travail auront été nécessaires
pour penser, dessiner, modifier et réaliser cette sublime collection dont la beauté et l’incroyable charge

Flasback sur une époque qui a révolutionné les arts décoratifs. Si les segments empilés de dimensions
décroissantes et les angles cassés, ne sont pas sans rappeler la configuration des pyramides à degrés
des lieux de cultes Aztèques et Mayas, c’est bien en Europe par l’influence du Bauhaus que s’imposera
le mouvement ART DECO avant de s’étendre au reste du monde. Tout en retenue, dépouillé de toute
référence historique, le mouvement ART DECO bouscule les stéréotypes pour créer son propre style.
Les codes esthétiques de la salle de bains sont revus et corrigés pour donner naissance à un style
moderne et fonctionnel où l’ordre, la symétrie, la rigueur et la sobriété expriment harmonieusement
la recherche d’une simplicité volontaire et d’une géométrie manifeste dans une parfaite cohérence
structurelle..
Autrefois réservée aux plus fortunés, privilégiant davantage un confort pratique et fonctionnel
dépourvu d’élégance, la salle de bains va connaître une véritable révolution grâce à la reconstruction
massive d’après guerre et à l’extraordinaire impact du mouvement ART DECO qui va balayer d’un
coup de crayon tous les standards hérités du passé pour créer sa propre vision démocratique et
esthétique de la pièce d’eau.

DECO collection, which is in all means respectful of an authentic style and know-how; and it is due
to the encyclopedic memory of its creator, Serge Volevatch, and to his boundless passion for the art
of bathing. Thus, more than ten years of research and endless working hours were needed to think,
design, modify and carry out this sublime collection whose beauty and its incredible emotional charge
will delight the eye of the experienced aesthete.
It is a flashback on an era that revolutionized the decorative arts. If the piled elements of decreasing size
and the broken angles are reminiscent of the configuration of the Aztec and Maya stepped pyramids, it
is in Europe that the influence of the Bauhaus movement that ART DECO will prevail, before spreading
to the rest of the world. Restrained, stripped of all historical reference, the ART DECO movement
disrupts stereotypes to create its own style. The aesthetics of the bathroom are revisited and reset to
give birth to a modern and functional style where order and symmetry, rigor and sobriety express

Once meant for the wealthy, mostly favoring practical and functional comfort devoid of elegance, the
bathroom will experience a real revolution thanks to the massive post-war reconstruction and the
extraordinary impact of the ART DECO movement, which will sweep in a single stroke all standard
legacy to create its own democratic and aesthetic vision.
Involved in this new art of living intended for a broad audience –thus starting serial production–
architects, decorators, designers, artists, they will all stamp their mark permanently and will reinvent a
new era in where aesthetics does not sacrifice to the useful. Hence, the pipes once exposed disappear
by fitting to offer the beauty of generous fittings superbly reinterpreted.
Due to its magnitude, the ART DECO movement has managed the feat of remarkable modernity instill
in its time, but also to write a new chapter in the history of the bath, whose extraordinary echoes have
