Fr Kurian Chalangady CMI Principal nam is round the corner with lots of nostalgic feelings,….pookkalam, payasam, village games, new dresses, swings…. Everything take us to a period where all the people were happy, Mahabali was the king of that period. Equality, was one of the main causes for the happiness and joy that prevailed then. There was no distinction or discrimination between the poor and rich, men and women and religious classes. Today the weak, poor and the marginalized become the victims of every issue and an ideal nation becomes a distant dream. 'Survival of the fittest' has become the ruling principle. 'Give respect and take respect' was the leading slogan for the sages of our nation, they found God in every needy ones, the divinity in others were respected and none of their deeds hurt others. Lamenting over the past is not fair, but to plan to do away with the mistakes are appreciable. This is the time for us to respond to the wake up call with a clear conscience to retrieve the happy land. To materialize this goal we need to soar high and it can be accomplished only by sincere and dedicated people having service mindedness. The colourful and prestigious ceremony was held on th

29 June 2013. Rev. Fr Kurian Chalangady CMI administered the Oath of Office and handed over the school flag to the new Head Boy, Master Mohammed Hisham of XII C and Head Girl Kum. Niveditha P Das of XII D. The traditional lamp was lit by our Mistresses of different houses. The house captains were presented with their respective house flags. The day also witnessed the investing of student counsellors and class prefects with their duties and responsibilities.

The education department had conducted a reading week from June 19-25 in memory of P.N. Panikar, the father of library movement in Kerala. Our students enthusiastically engaged in the first day programme. The activities ignited the apprisal of reading skill in children.

Grandparents’ Day was held on 24 July 2013. Padmasree Madhu (film artist) inaugurated Grandparents’ Day and Girls’ cell. Mrs. Rajalekshmi, renowned playback singer were present in the function. Rev. Fr. Mathew Thayil CMI, our manager, Rev. Fr. Kurian Chalangady CMI, Principal, Mr. Thomas Mani, Academic Co-ordinator blessed the occassion. Mrs. Rajalekshmi sung some melodious songs which entertained the Christ Nagarians. Grand Parents were honoured by the Principal with ‘Ponnada’. Variety entertainments followed the function.

18 and 19 of July 2013. Shri. Sriram (Programme

Executive, All India Radio) renowned playback

singer and Malavika (Tele artist), inaugurated the

function. Variety of participation was experienced in ththe various art and literary events. July 19 was the

day of Inter House Cultural Fest. The fest witnessed

the effective participation of all the four houses.

The closing cermony was graced by Mrs. Akhila

Anand (Playback Singer). The championship was

bagged by Expo House.

Annual Athletic Meet Annual Athletic Meet

The School Annual Athletic Meet was conducted on 21st August 2013 in Kerala University Stadium, Trivandrum. Dr. G. Kishore, Principal, Sports Authority of India, LNCP, Kariavattom hoisted the flag. Official’s Oath was taken by Mr. Thomas Mani, Academic Co-ordinator and Athlete’s Oath was taken by Master Gokul A.S., Sports Counsellor. Rev. Fr. Mathew Thayil

Roshni A (12B) was honoured with the office of student co-ordinator, Sidharth BS (10E) was the student Head Master, Karthikeya Varma (10A) and Chris Joseph (10E) were chosen to be the Administrative Assistants. Over 65 students from class X and XII were selected as student teachers. Outstanding student teachers and classes were selected and rewarded.

The much awaited student’s Day, was celebrated on 2nd August 2013. The memorable day which offers a golden chance to students to develop an enthusiastic pedagogic spirit was observed with due respect and solemnity. In the morning assembly Rev. Fr. Kurian Chalandgady CMI handed over the golden key to Master Gokul A.S., Student Principal (12D) and Master

Students of the four houses marched past to the tune of school band troupe. Brilliant display of aerobics and the parade by band troupe added splendour to the day. Olympic House won the sports championship.

On TEACHER’S DAY, students organized ‘GURU VANDANAM’ which was followed by cultural treat, expressing their token of love and affection to the teachers.

th6 September 2013, the birthday of our beloved Principal, Rev. Fr. Kurian Chalangady CMI was celebrated with great grandeur.

June 5, 2013 the nature club of our school organized a

programme called ‘Marangle Ariyaan’. Our nature club

members ensured their active participation by placing

name boards on the trees in Gandhi Park, East Fort,

which states the name and scientific names of trees such

as palm, ficus, neem, jack fruit tree etc. Mayor

Adv. K. Chandrika inaugurated the function. Forester of

Social Forestery Department K. Udayasenan was the

Chief guest. Principal, Vice Principal, Head Master,

Teachers and students attended the function.

Directory which consists of blood groups of students and

parents. The directory was handed over to the Chief

Minister Sri Oommen Chandy by Sri V. S. Shiva Kumar,

Chalangady CMI felicitated the function. On the requ-est

of the students, the Agricultural Department presented a

coconut seedling to each nature club members.
