CMT Advanced The CMT Advanced process stands for deposition rates that can be exactly adjusted by way of positive and negative process cycles. As well as the wire motions, now the polarity of the welding current is fully integrated into the process-control as well. Polarity reversal takes place in the short-circuiting phase, which is what ensures the accustomed process stability of CMT. Further advantages include carefully targeted thermal input, and a higher deposition rate with no increase in heat input and with minimal distortion. PROCESSES

- CMT Advanced: Positive and

negative CMT cycles

- CMT Advanced Pulse: Negatively

poled CMT cycles and positively

poled pulsing cycles

- CMT

- CMT Pulse

- Pulsed arc

- Standard arc

APPLICATIONS

- Light and ultra-light-gauge joints

with high gap bridgeability.

- Joining of high-strength steels with

low thermal input.

- Less dilution when cladding.

- Root passes without weld-pool

backing support.

- Bimetal joins (e.g. steel to Al): lower

heat input and higher deposition

rate.

- Brazing of high- and super-high-

strength steels.

WELDING PROPERTIES

CMT Advanced ensures excellent gap-bridgeability on many different

materials:

PROCESSCMT Advanced: alternates between

positive and negative CMT cycles. The

wire motions are fully integrated within

the process.

CMT Advanced Pulse: combines

negatively poled CMT cycles and

positively poled pulsed-arc cycles.CMT
