Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
The Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a new feature that will provide additional security for the
CloudBacko Pro/Lite account aside from using password lock for logging in.
Using the CloudBacko app, OR
Using TOTP Authenticators. These are third-party authenticator apps that provide one-
time based password. A few examples are Authy, Duo, Google Authenticator, Microsoft
Authenticator, and LastPass Authenticator.
How it works?
The CloudBacko app 2FA Authentication method for CloudBacko Pro/Lite machine.
1. When starting up CloudBacko Pro/Lite, first you will enter the password for the Password Lock (If
enabled).
2. The selection of the 2FA Authentication will be displayed.
3. Upon confirmation of the 2FA approval request, the CloudBacko app will receive a push
authentication request, to accept or reject the login to CloudBacko Pro/Lite.
4. There is additional option to “Authenticate with one-time password” which can be generated by
the CloudBacko app if there are issues with the push notification.

Mobile Backup
Nowadays, we tend to use our smartphones or tablets to get our work done, because of this,
backing up is crucial as our mobile devices have become an extension of working on a computer.
With this, CloudBacko Mobile Backup is introduced to backup and restore data on mobile devices
that will provide flexible access to prevent the risk of damaging or losing data due to accident or
disaster.
How it works?
The CloudBacko app Mobile backup method for CloudBacko Pro/Lite/Home machine.
1. Mobile device must be registered first.
2. After the registration, go to CloudBacko app to start the mobile backup.
3. Photos and videos are stored in the selected local destination on CloudBacko Pro/Lite/ Home
machine.
Datasheet
www.cloudbacko.com Mobile Backup | 10
System Architecture
The CloudBacko app is connected to the local network of the CloudBacko Pro/Lite/Home machine
via a WiFi Router, to backup and restore photos and videos that are stored primarily on the local
destination of the CloudBacko Pro/Lite/Home machine.
NOTE: The first mobile backup may take up a few hours to backup all the photos and videos from your
device. Subsequent backups will take less time. Please do the following for the first mobile backup to
prevent any interruption during backup process:
Disable screen timeout
Disable auto-lock
Turn off all power saving modes
Connect to power source
Datasheet
www.cloudbacko.com Mobile Backup | 11
Photos and videos are stored either in mobile device’s internal memory or SD Card. These are
selected as backup source using the CloudBacko app and will be backed up to the local
destination of a CloudBacko machine, that can be a Hard Drive, Flash Drive, and/or Network
Drive in their ORIGINAL format unencrypted.
Datasheet
www.cloudbacko.com Mobile Backup | 12
If storage of photos and videos to a cloud destination is required, then this can be done using
CloudBacko Pro/Lite/Home to perform a secondary backup and restore of the photos and
videos on the local drive to the cloud.
To backup and restore photos and videos from CloudBacko app to CloudBacko Pro/Lite/Home
and Cloud, it is a two-step process.
1st : Backup photos and videos from CloudBacko app to CloudBacko Pro/Lite/Home.
2nd : Create a File backup set using CloudBacko Pro/Lite/Home, using the local backup
destination as the backup source, and then backup this backup set to cloud destination.

iOS
Due to the design of iOS, users do not
know the filename of photos and
videos in the “Photos” app. Also,
every photo and video restored will
have a new unique ID which are
different from the original file.
Alternate Mobile Device
To restore data to an alternate mobile device, it requires to register two or more mobile
devices on CloudBacko Pro/Lite/Home. It could be multiple mobile devices with the same or
cross operating system (iOS and Android). This table also shows if the original filename will be
restored as well and if it will be restored to the original location in the alternate mobile device.

Overview of Mobile Backup Process
The following steps are performed during a mobile backup job from CloudBacko app to CloudBacko
Pro/Lite/Home local machine and Cloud destination.
Datasheet
www.cloudbacko.com Mobile Backup | 20
Mobile Backup Server (MBS)
Starting with CloudBacko Pro v4.3.0.0 or above, the Mobile Backup Server (MBS) will be utilized to
handle mobile backup and restore of CloudBacko app. It is an integral part of CloudBacko
Pro/Lite/Home, which is located in the “mbs” folder inside the CloudBacko Pro/Lite/Home folder.
The Mobile Backup Server (MBS) will be activated automatically when a mobile device installed
with the CloudBacko app is successfully registered for mobile backup with CloudBacko
Pro/Lite/Home. Afterwards, it will be automatically restarted whenever the CloudBacko
Pro/Lite/home services is restarted or when the CloudBacko Pro/Lite/Home machine is rebooted
or powered on. The MBS will be deactivated when all mobile devices have deregistered from the
mobile backup settings and the CloudBacko Pro/Lite/Home services is restarted.
The MBS will use the following port ranges for the request of CloudBacko app
CloudBacko Pro: TCP Port: 50000 to 50099, UDP Port: 50200 to 50299, Protocol: HTTP
CloudBacko Lite: TCP Port: 51200 to 51299, UDP Port: 51200 to 51209, Protocol: HTTP
CloudBacko Home: TCP Port: 52000 to 52099, UDP Port: 52200 to 52299, Protocol: HTTP
The default HTTP and UDP ports are the following:
CloudBacko Pro: TCP Port: 50000, UDP Port: 50200
CloudBacko Lite: TCP Port: 51200, UDP Port: 51200
CloudBacko Home: TCP Port: 52000, UDP Port: 52200
If these ports are already in use by other applications or services, then the MBS will automatically
acquire another port. The actual TCP and UDP port can be seen on the CloudBacko Pro/Lite/Home
when pairing a mobile device for mobile backup.
Datasheet
www.cloudbacko.com Mobile Backup | 21
To perform an MBS health check and CloudBacko app connection check,
1. Check IP address, HTTP port, and UDP port in the
“running.txt” file. On Windows, go to
\ProgramData\CloudBacko Pro\Lite\Home\mbs.
Example: CloudBacko Pro on Windows
NOTE: If the “running.txt” file does not exist then
the MBS is not running, restart the CloudBacko
Pro\Lite\Home Services
After opening the file it will show the HTTP port,
IP address, and UDP ports which are in actual use
by the MBS.
2. Open a command prompt and check if the IP
address captured in the running.txt is the
correct IP address of the machine where
CloudBacko Pro\Lite\Home is installed.
3. Can also verify the actual HTTP port used by
MBS, type the command netstat -an|more.
4. Make sure that your firewall setting allows
network traffic through the following HTTP and
UDP ports to ensure that the communication
between your machine and mobile device is
successful, otherwise mobile backup and
restore will not work.
5. To perform a health check on the MBS. Open a
browser on the CloudBacko Pro\Lite\Home
machine and type the IP address, followed by
TCP port. For example, if the HTTP port used is
50000, http://192.168.110:50000 you should get
the following result, which shows “Running”
status. Which mean the MBS is running.
In the CloudBacko Pro/Lite/Home machine
6. To run a connection test between the mobile
device and machine open a browser in your
mobile device and type the IP address, followed
by TCP port.
For example, if the HTTP port used is 50000,
http://192.168.110:50000 you should get the
following result, which shows “Running” status.
Which means the CloudBacko app can
successfully connect to the MBS and both
backup and restore can proceed on the mobile
device.
