Determine Your Uniform NeedsWhen you rent uniforms through Alsco, you will need enough changes of the uniform to ensure your employees always have a clean uniform. For example, if your employee needs a clean shirt each day of the week, you will be issued 11 shirts total for each employee.

Other combinations are available, depending on your needs

Here’s the math:

Determine the Correct Arc Rating for Your PPEEnsuring employee safety and compliance when working with electrical currents begins by selecting the appropriate arc-rated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). An Arc Thermal Protective Value (ATPV) or arc rating represents the amount of incident energy predicted to cause second-degree burns (number of calories/centimeter squared or cal/cm2) and helps determine what level of protection your employees’ PPE should offer.

The NFPA 70E standard includes four categories of protection to help you select the most appropriate PPE. Category ratings are dependent on the magnitude of potential arc flash hazard and are used to simplify the labelling of PPEs.

Because it is estimated that between 80%–90% of the electrical equipment that can cause an arc flash would generate around 8 cal/cm2, most people working with electricity require PPE with a category 2 rating. Be certain that the arc rating you select matches the potential incident energy hazard analysis for your work environment (see chart).
