Summary

The session will include coaching essential tools

for the four jumping events in Track & Field.

It will also facilitate:

- Learn as doing on the track for each event

- Information sharing from experienced coaches

- Training aspects applicable to other sports

- Networking among participants

Purpose

To provide a development program for coaches of

the Heat Track Club that will enhance their

athlete’s physical abilities. This will also

facilitate the Heat’s retention of coaches.

This Jump session will serve as the first of

several Track and Field Coaches Clinic offerings.

Cornelius Young ~ “Coach Neil”

Coach Young is entering his tenth season lending his expertise to Atlanta, Georgia area track clubs, high school teams and open athletes training in sprints, hurdles, pole vault and other jumps.

Young has trained athletes that have competed in the Peachtree Road Race and New York Marathon.

He has served as Georgia District and Georgia-South Carolina Region AAU Meet Referee as well as Competition Director for the USA Track & Field Southeast Region Open/Masters Championship.

He facilitates workshops, clinics, and NCAA Recruiting Rules Seminars. Young also designs sprint/hurdle training pedagogy and mentors Emerging Elite/Olympic Hopefuls.

While finishing coursework to attain a Level V credentials with the International Association of Athletics Federations, Young puts his plans into fruition with The Heat Track Club.
