Ergonomics & Operator Comfort

The QX Series offers a variety ofoperator conveniences for enhancedcomfort and increased productivity,including a full suspension vinyl seatwith weight and back-angle adjust-ment, hip restraints and retractableseat belt. A compact front cowldesign offers generous foot andleg room, along with a wide entry

step. Its infinitely adjustable steeringcolumn enhances operator comfort.

The QX Series AC TECH controlleroffers Flex-logic acceleration controlwhich enables the truck to respondaccording to the speed with whichthe acceleration pedal is depressed,allowing more accurate, precisecontrol by the driver. The hydraulicsteering system reduces operatoreffort, for easier maneuvering.

Automotive-style light and turn signallevers simplify repetitive actionsallowing the operator to focus on thejob. An optional auto tilt levelingsystem assists proper mast/forkpositioning.

Dual lift and tilt lever, deck-mountedhydraulic controls are standard. Anadjustable armrest with fingertipcontrol hydraulics can be ordered asan option, and is available withNissans exclusive single lift/tiltdesign, resulting in enhancedergonomics, and further improvingproductivity.

The LCD dash display visibly

communicates truck status andwarnings for operator awarenessincluding: travel speed, batterycapacity, hour meter (4-mode), timeand day of week, brake warning, seatbelt warning, and selected powermode.

The QX Series Operator PresenceSystem, with seat-actuated powerinterrupt, incorporates a mast-lockwhich automatically locks lift and tiltoperations when the operator leaves

the seat, and a return-to-neutralfeature to minimize forklift movement ifthe operator leaves the seat while thelift truck is still in gear. Thispresence system also includesaudible and visual warnings if eitherthe seat belt is not engaged while intravel mode, or when the parkingbrake has not been applied prior tothe operator exiting the compartment.

Efficient Performance

Powerful 80-volt motors deliver

increased performance and similarproductivity to engine-poweredtrucks, providing customers anemissions-free alternative tocombustion trucks with comparableperformance.

The QX Series AC TECH controllerprovides lower battery consumptionand optimum operating efficienciesthrough regenerative braking,automatic deceleration, and on-demand power steering. Five-moderegenerative braking system

increases the number of workinghours per battery charge. Anadjustable auto-power off featureswitches off the electrical system ifthe truck sits idle for apreprogrammed time period.

A four-digit PIN code offers accessto customized performance settings,allowing up to five uniqueoperational profiles according todriver experience and load handlingconditions. Or, select from three

preset performance modes(economy, normal, high) based onthe application. If additional flexibilityis needed, settings can be adjustedmanually to meet application needs.

The QX Series highly reliable CAN-Bus network constantly monitors thecommands that the operator sends,responding instantly at extremelyefficient levels, resulting in lessbattery energy being consumed,while achieving greaterperformance.

Motor and controller feature thermalprotection system to slow or shutdown truck in response to hightemperatures.

Battery and Electrical

With an 80-volt electricalsystem, the AC TECH motorcontroller features transistorizedpower inverters, for DC to three

phase AC power conversion. Thesingle contactor design reducesmaintenance. An emergency stop/power disconnect button shuts offtruck power in case of anemergency.

Truck and Mast Design

The QX Series rugged, unitizedframe design incorporates an integralhydraulic tank for better heatdissipation, increased durability, andlonger life. Contoured counterweightdesign enhances maneuverability.

Five-piece reinforced overhead guarddesign allows easy replacementshould individual parts becomedamaged. Slotted design facilitatesoverhead battery replacement.

Nissans flat face mast designfeatures rolled steel channels, largecross sections, and thick inner railsfor increased capacity retention. Sidethrust rollers on the fork carriage areeasily accessed for carriageadjustment.

Drive Unit

Free floating drive axle with lateralmounted AC drive motor offersmore power and quicker response.Quieter, more efficient helicalgearing reduces noise levels andincreases durability. Service brakesare standard shoe type.

Solid Pneumatic Tires

Solid pneumatic tires absorb vibrationfor a smoother ride over roughsurfaces.

Hydraulics

Powerful AC hydraulic pump motorpowers lift and tilt operation as wellas the on-demand power steeringsystem. Hydraulic operation isinfinitely variable through the ACTECH controller.

Hydraulic oil tank filler locationmakes daily level checks andperiodic refills fast and simple.

Steer System

On-demand steering is achieved

through a priority hydraulic loadsensing valve, which diverts fluid asneeded to either the mast functionsor steering system, with priority tosteering, eliminating the need for aseparate steering motor.

Brake System

Automatic, programmableregenerative deceleration prolongsbrake life. Regenerative braking isachieved through switch-back/plugging, foot applied braking,neutral braking, and controlled rollback.

Reduced height brake pedalimproves the ease of operation andreduces operator fatigue. A hand-actuated parking brake, with lockrelease button is located on thecowl within easy reach.

Ease of Maintenance

The QX Series features a 100%AC-powered system, includingbrushless drive motor and hydraulicpump motor. AC motors use fewercomponents and require lessmaintenance, for lower operatingcosts. The design greatly reducesthe number of serviceable parts,including commutators, contactors,and brushes; eliminating expensesrelated to inspection andreplacement of these items, forlower overall operating costs.

The AC TECH controller includes abuilt-in-test-equipment module withself-diagnostics and coded service

history, logged by hour meterreading. Troubleshooting throughthe meter panel allows rapid accessto service requirements. Noadditional handset tool is required.
