CLASS OF 1981 GUIDE Stanford Reunion Homecoming Weekend October 20-23, 2011 Dear Classmate, Ready or not, here it comes. Our 30th Reunion is just two short months away. If you’re already on our “Yes!” list, read no further. Skip to the registration form, and we’ll look forward to catching up with you in October. But if you opened this feeling slightly queasy at the thought of returning to the Farm, rest assured, you’re not alone. We’ve heard plenty of excuses for missing Reunion: crazy work schedules, ill pets, at tires. We get it. But here are ve very good reasons why you should take a deep breath, bite the bullet, and get yourself to Stanford in October. 1. Brilliant, famous professors speaking on timely topics you care deeply about. 2. An out-of-the-blue catch-up that turns into a valuable business connection. 3. Standing in a room full of people who are genuinely thrilled that you showed up. 4. An opportunity to dance in public without social or professional repercussions. 5. We’re not getting any younger. Seriously . Will we see you? Please say yes. It won’t be the same without you. Until October, Wynn McClenahan Burkett Lori Ogden Moore Events Co-Chair Events Co-Chair P.S. Did we mention master PBS interviewer Charlie Rose will be leading a panel on the future of America’s schools?

Class of ’81 – 30th Reunion PartyFriday, October 217:30 p.m. – MidnightYou won’t want to miss this party at the beautiful Menlo Circus Club! Think Don and Betty Draper and the cast of “Mad Men” and you will get the picture. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served and our fully hosted bar will feature – of course – martinis. Live Mo-town music throughout the evening from Pride & Joy. Dress: Evening attire suggested. Add to the atmo-sphere by sporting your favorite fedora or evening gloves. Class of ’81 Tailgate & Central Mini-ReunionsSaturday, October 22Noon – 5:00 p.m. Socialize with friends and family at your Class Tail-gate and enjoy an all-you-can eat barbecue meal and hosted bar. Food, drink and mingling will continue for the entire duration of the event. Enjoy the event on the earlier side, or consider exploring other re-union activities and arrive at the tailgate a little later.

Included as a part of the tailgate are Mini-Reunions. From 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., those special groups you most connected with as a student will be gathering at the tailgate – dormmates, overseas pals, sports team-mates, and fellow Greeks – just to name a few! Visit www.alu.ms/classof81 to see which Mini-Reunions are already in the works or to learn how to organize your own.

While we recommend that Mini-Reunions take place during the tailgate, if you would like to coordinate your Mini-Reunion on your own at another time, you are welcome to do so.
