Dear children,

The much awaited vacation has finally begun. Summer vacations are synonymous

with peace, rest and relaxation. It is a time to have fun and enjoy childhood to

the fullest. As important as it is to rest and enjoy, it is also important to continue

to learn. Therefore, strike a balance between work and play and allow yourself to

grow in this process. Let this vacation be the doorway to creativity, learning,

growth and joy.

Here are few tips for you to follow:

1. A healthy mind resides in a healthy body so start your day early, go for

morning walk regularly and set a routine even during vacations.

2. Assign a permanent workplace and work time. This brings in discipline in your

life.

3. Introduce yourself to the fascinating world of fictitious characters through

interesting story books. This will help you to develop vocabulary and language

skills.

4. Inculcate good manners, healthy habits and respect for elders. Make use of

the 4 magic words- `Please, Thank you, Excuse me, sorry’ and be an

inspiration for your kith and kin.

5. Develop self help skills: Eat food on your own, clean your room and dress up

yourself to become self-dependent.

6. Indulge yourself in learning a new sport or join talent classes this summer.

This will not only enhance your skills, but will also help you to stay active and

attentive.

7. Listen to interesting stories from your family members and try to narrate

them.

8. Last but not the least – Speak in English with your family members and

friends.

sight words( e.g upon, under, above, although etc.) Use the underlined

sight words to make a “Sight word hanging” of at least 10 words and read

them regularly. Use your own creativity to make it colourful and

impressive.

• Label your holiday homework and submit it in a folder.

• Homework will be assessed on the basis of neatness, creativity and originality of ideas.

• All homework to be done on sheets. Do not use subject notebooks for doing the holiday home work.

Fun with Shapes

Make colourful cut outs of basic shapes like circle, triangle, square, rectangle etc

and make a figure or scenery on A3 size pastel sheet. Laminate it to use it as a

table mat.

Make colourful and eye catching wall picture frame of 6 to 8 pictures on the topics

given below. Use your own thoughts and innovative ideas to create your frame.
