What is CLARION?
CLARION (CLinician Administrator Relationship Improvement OrganizatioN)
• Student-driven national initiative based at the University of Minnesota
• Focused on leadership, teamwork, communication, analytical reasoning, conflict-resolution, and business practices
• Goal more sophisticated understanding of the healthcare system

What is the Case Competition?
• Student case competition for health professional students• 4 person teams, at least two disciplines
• Analyze a health care issue and create a root cause analysis (Look at the BIG PICTURE!)
• Teams give a 20 minute presentation to an interprofessional panel of judges and answer questions
What is the Case Competition?
NATIONAL• Runs national competition• Distributes case to local
partners• Hosts winning teams from
local partners• CASH PRIZE for 1st, 2nd, and
3rd
UNE• Runs local competition using
national case• Sets up and supports teams • Hosts local competition• Selects winner • Funds winning team to go to
national competition

Complete the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s (IHI) Open School courses Improvement Capability 101-105 and Safety 201.
IHI Open School Basic Level courses can be found here: IHI website.

Deadline: January 10, 2020
How to get involvedStep 3:
Attend UNE Interprofessional Case Competition Orientation meeting on rules and guidelines.
Complete all three steps to be randomized to a team and participate in the competition.

Step 4: Meet your team and get to work! Teams will be assigned once all three steps have been completed!
