Principal’s News

Welcome to Week 7 and after a cooler Sunday and sultry start to the new week. The smoke haze

has eased for the moment and while our fire danger rating today is High, many of the fires still

burning are advice only. Our thought and prayers are still with the School Communities and wider

Communities who have been affected by these devastating fires and with the amazing Rural Fire

Service Volunteers who have worked tirelessly day after day. There are many support services

and businesses currently organising and coordinating fund raisers and aid for these communities.

At school we will coordinate a fundraiser to support schools who have had significant damage

due to the fires. Please see further over in the newsletter for details.

This week the weather forecasts are for a hot start and finish to the week, with a cooler

Wednesday. If the smoke haze returns we will once again put our precautionary measures in

place with inside play and limited outside time; this will also include bus transport to Intensive

Swimming. At this stage we will be participating in Friday’s Touch Football Gala Day and

Swimming for Sport. If this changes, due to poor air quality, notification will be on the Skoolbag

App. Once again I thank you for your support in being proactive and also patient with us as our

workload increases to manage these situations.

A huge thank you to all of our wonderful Grandparents who visited last week and made our 2019

Grandparents Day very special. We had a huge crowd and lots of wonderful learning on display.

The Grandparents enjoyed a Devonshire Tea while perusing the Book Fair, before joining us for

our Assembly. Our Book Fair has also gotten off to a spectacular start with lots of books and

stationery purchased. Book Fair continues this week on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Our new Tawny PBL Mascot is going well. PBL stands for Positive

Behaviours For Learning and is the basis of our Student Wellbeing Program

in the school.

We are constantly reminding students of our PBL Values and school motto along with our Tawny 5 Rules and I would also encourage parents to use

these words when celebrating positive behaviour and discussing negative choices with your child. The Tawny 5 Rules:
