Oregon is renowned for making world class Pinot Noirs but they usually fetch a pretty penny for them. Not this one! Silky smooth body, ripe bright fruit, and low acidity make this medium bodied dry red go down real easy. It’s so good that you will want to buy two at this price! 8.99 DOMAINE DES BANQUETTES COTES DU RHONE BLANC France. So often when we hear the name Cotes Du Rhone we think of the great red wines. But did you know they make great white wines from here as well? Maybe not so popular over here in the states but over in France it is extremely popular due to its great food pairing, quality and dollar value. This full- bodied dry white sees no new oak. It’s all about the fruit and mouthfeel here. A wine that should be served chilled but not ice cold. Too cold and you lose the beautiful mouthfeel and flavors. A blend of Grenache Blanc, Rousanne and Clairette Blanc. PAVILLON DE CHAVANNES COTE DE BROUILLY AMBASSADES France. Ahhhh. Another beauty from the Beaujolais region. This is not your average Beaujolais here, my friends. No, no. This is from Cote De Brouilly which has been granted Cru status. Quite simply: one of the best areas (and smallest of the Crus) in Beaujolais. Also this is their best wine that they make. Cuveé e Des Ambassades is from only their finest and oldest parcels and is served in every French Embassy. Yes it is that good. Made from 100% Gamay grapes, this medium bodied dry red is great with pork & chicken and can be served slightly chilled. 16.99 BOGLE PETITE SIRAH California. Petite Sirah is such a wonderful grape, but, for whatever reason, is often overlooked. You can’t beat it for the money when it’s done right as this wine is. This full bodied dry red has mass appeal because of its aromatic bouquet and soft rich body. It’s a very dark colored wine (almost purple) that will match up with full flavored dishes. 8.99 MATCHBOOK CABERNET SAUVIGNON California. A staff favorite here at the shoppe. Why? Because it is so good and reasonably priced! It’s a full-bodied juicy dry red that is very smooth and flavorful. Made from almost all Cabernet Sauvignon but there is a splash of Syrah added to fatten it up a bit. This Cabernet delivers the goods, plain and simple. You get more than what you pay for. It’s got tiger blood running through its veins! 11.99 12.99 CAMBRIA CHARDONNAY California. Hailing from Santa Maria Valley in the northern part of Santa Barbara, which is fantastic for growing Chardonnay. Full-bodied and dry with a fairly rich mouthfeel. The wine is oak aged which imparts a little hint of vanilla. Have it with lobster, chicken and salmon. LA FIERA PINOT GRIGIO Italy. Great quality straight shooter Pinot Grigio from the Veneto region. A real easy drinker because of the low acidity and abundant fruit. It’s a medium dry white that is great by itself and also pairs nicely with seafood and all white meat dishes. 5.99 VALLE LAS ACEQUIAS MALBEC Argentina. This well-crafted little treat hails from the Mendoza area of Argentina. It is a real solid value driven dry red. It’s made from 100% Malbec and hand harvested. There is no oak aging to the wine. Makes for a full bodied very flavorful soft round juicy red. Very smooth and a real easy drinker. What’s not to love? 7.99 10.99 Italy. What a great find this wine has turned out to be. This Piemonte classic over-delivers at this price point. This is a full-bodied deep colored Barbera jam packed with flavor. Very balanced between the fruit, acidity and tannins. There are many layers to this wine that are so enjoyable-dark fruit, a whisper of coffee, a long finish-attributes that should cost a whole lot more, but don’t. This is a serious dry red with a not so serious price tag. I am a big fan. Let me know what you think: [email protected] 5.99 CASAL GARCIA VINHO VERDE Portugal. Literally meaning “Green Wine,” this semi-dry wine is perfect for watching a summer sunset. No, the wine isn’t green, but the name refers to the slightly unripe grapes that are used. This gives the wine a lighter body, less alcohol, and refreshing acidity. Great with seafood or just by itself. 13.99 TRIMBACH RIESLING France. From one of the greatest wine making families in the world, comes this beautiful medium-bodied dry white. Rieslings are usually thought of as sweet, but this is vinified with no residual sugar left. You still get all that great Riesling fruit, but the wine finishes dry. Good match with seafood, chicken, pork and duck. 11.99 Italy. Here is a great representation of how well the Aglianico Grape can be. Great dollar value, terroir driven wine that quite frankly will impress all wine lovers. The two best areas for Aglianico are Campania and Basilicata. This is from Basilicata. It’s fermented in stainless steel and aged in large neutral oak barrels. This keeps the wine fresh and lively. This fairly full bodied deep dark juicy dry red packs a good amount of wow factor from the abundance of ripe fruit, moderate acidity and polished tannins. Enjoy it with things off the grill. BALIAGGIO AGLIANICO DEL VULTURE DOMAINE COURBIS SYRAH France. From the famed Cornas producer in the Northern Rhone comes ths beautiful and compelling 100% Syrah wine. The fruit for this wine is all estate grown. It comes mainly from their Saint Joseph Vineyards. Right there you are getting super high pedigree without the high price tag. This full bodied immensley flavorful dry red packs a lot of WOW factor. Dark color, intense nose of brambly dark fruits, and some coffee notes. There’s such a wonderful depth and texture to the wine that just stays with you. This is the cat’s meow! You know what I mean jelly bean? 13.99 TORRE A ORIENTE FALANGHINA Italy. Falanghina is the classic grape from Campania. The grape thrives there because of the warm days and the rich soil. This medium bodied lush dry white has a whisper of creamy texture as the wine is aged on the lees (yeast). This gives a nice mouthfeel and a little weight to the wine as well. No oak aging. All done in stainless steel. This keeps the wine vibrant and fruit driven. Makes for a beautiful, soulful wine that matches well with seafood, pork and chicken dishes. 11.99 LES ANGES SAUVIGNON BLANC France. The Loire area of France is such a wonderful place to grow Sauvignon Blanc. It’s famous for Sancerre, but there are so many other Sauv Blancs that deliver the goods without spending a lot; Les Anges is one of them. This is a traditional Sauv Blanc. No oak. Good fruit. Good acidity and minerality as well. A touch of citrus flavors can be found here but not as much as a New Zealand style. Delicious wine. Super price point. What more can you ask for! 7.99 TENUTA MONTANELLO BARBERA D’ALBA
