Intelligent Transport System With green Electricity Integrated Public Transport system

Challenges & mitigation References

Vehicle Growth

• The annual rate of growth of motor vehicle population in India has been around 10% during last decade.

• Vehicle ownership rate is continuously increasing day by day in a huge amount reducing usage of public transportation

Road Accidents

• Almost 8% increase in number of India’s road accidents every consecutive year (IIT-Delhi Report).

• National Crime records Bureau statistics say 1.3 lakh people died & over 4.7 lakh were injured on Indian roads in 2010.

Migration from Rural to Urban

• Around 35% of Indian population moves from rural to urban over a year because of lack of facilities and other social issues.

• Food problem due to natural causes and growth of industries.

Unavailability of Land

• Indian cities are expanding in a radial mode and are not likely to develop in a vast level.

• At current time residential and commercial area continuously increases due to over population.

• Transport system affects slum area up to great extent.

Power Supply Issues

• The financial loss has been estimated at 1.5% of the national GDP because of ELECTRIC THEFT.

• India’s GDP , based on purchasing power priority ,is estimated at US $ 3.52 Trillion for 2008 , with a median age of 25 Yrs. & GDP growth rate 8 - 9% therefore due to this electric sources will be vanished

• Intelligent Transport System:-

• Easy trapping of over speed vehicles automatically using GSM Module and GPS Trackers with help of IR sensors or sensor plates to reduce over speeding problems.

• Easy identification of vehicles will be done using unique ID which will be pre-installed in vehicles.

• Over loading problems will be reduced due to concept of CCTV cameras and sensor systems.

• Fine charges receipt will be sent to vehicle owners through SMS & E-mails in over speeding case.

• Integrated Public Transport system:-

• Rationalize system design and operations at a level above the individual modes, to improve the flow of people and goods.

• Availability of transportation services by increasing the coverage of feeder connections and by expanding from a hub-and spoke system to a distributed network for national & regional services.

• Vehicles will be available at huge number under one roof which will reduce time and cost.

Proposed Solution

• Green Electricity:-

• Green electricity is supplying electricity from existing eco –friendly energy sources such as renewable & non-polluting sources.

• It is of four types-

1. Hydropower

2.Wind power

3.Geothermal energy

4.Solar power

• Piezoelectric crystals & materials can be used on roads to generate electricity.

• WIND TURBINES can be used at entry points of METRO’S tunnels to produce electricity.

Merits Of Intelligent transport system

1.Over speeding problem will be easily reduced.

2.Vehicle Theft, bribe and road accident cases will be reduced to great extent.

3.Speed gun angle problem will be vanished.

4.It will be more economical as compare to present system( radar, speed gun).

Merits Of Integrated Public Transport System

1.All transport facilities will be available under one roof.

2.Public transport strategy will be enhanced.

3.It will be time and money saver.

4.Density of traffic will be reduced as compare to current scenario.

Merits Of Green Electricity

1.Over dependence on non-renewable sources will be reduced to great extent.

2.Decrement in amount of Green House Gases.

Impact Of Solution

Integrated Public Transport system

• High Security Level will be needed at vast number.

• Over crowded problem will be more at occasional time and delay in transport problem.

• Pollution will be increased at big level in that area.

• Initial installment will be costly as per requirements.

• Each and every person has to follow rules and regulations of all security system including VIP’S.

Intelligent Transport system

• Simultaneously more than one vehicles cant be crossed at same speed from the sensors plate.

• Due to heavy loaded vehicles the sensor plates will be destroyed.

• Fine receipt through SMS will be sent to government vehicles when they will cross sensor/sensor plates.

• Sensor plates are restricted to maximum limit of load.

Green Electricity

• Storage of voltage problem will be faced.

• Increment in sources of dry waste after its use.

• Restricted in heavy loads at highways.

Implementation Of Solution

A) To provide easy trapping of over speed vehicles automatically using GSM Module and GPS Trackers with help of IR sensors- We are using IR sensors with GSM Module and GPS trackers which will track each vehicle. Vehicles will be provided with a transmitter and receiver/unique identity number which will be traced by receiver. Process from trapping till the processing of charge sheet will run automatic(no need for human help) & charge sheet will be generated directly by system on the bases of data acquired(over speed). Charge sheet will be send to the address of vehicle owner & if he denies then license & vehicle will be ceased.

B) Generation of Green Electricity through Piezoelectric Disc in terms of voltage- Green electricity will be generated using vibrations created by vehicles. As vehicles moves they create some vibrations which will be used to produce pressure in form of strain on piezoelectric disc which can generate 44 MW in 1.6 miles in one year which can be consumed by 35800 homes. We will be constructing highways & roads which are generally having high traffic as these routes will be beneficial in producing electricity in huge amount.

Infrastructure

1.Concrete forest inversely proportional to natural forest.

2.Management problem of time table & network communication.

3.Natural disaster issue.

4.Allocation of unique ID’S on running vehicle.

5.Data hacking risk causing system failure.

1.Concrete forest must be surrounded by Eco-Friendly Zone.

2.Special campaign must be conducted to resolve the problem of unique ID’s.

3.Additional transport vehicles are provided at the time of failure of management of time-table & network communication.

4.High Security data service must be provided to reduce the risk of hacking.
