Most parts o the modernUniversity have their origins in theNorthampton Institute which wasounded in 1894 as a result o theCity o London Parochial CharitiesAct o the previous year and thegenerosity o the Earl o Northampton. out in today’s School o Engineeringand Mathematical Sciences.
