SCAM ALERT It was brought to our attention that parishioners are receiving fraudulent TEXT MESSAGES from someone claiming to be Fr .Chris and requesting gift cards. The impersonator is instructing people to scratch off the hidden pin number on the gift card then take a photo of the card information and send the information via text.

******This is NOT from Fr. Chris, he would never request gift cards via texts or emails.*******

red religious, who served for low or no wages, now outnumber wage-earning members resul ng in declining income and rising health care costs. Locally, many of our religious congrega ons benefit from this appeal so please be generous.

BECOMING ONE PARISH

I am incredibly excited to begin my new posi on as the Director of Music and Organist for the City Center Grouping, and look forward to working with the clergy, staff, and congrega ons to enhance the beauty and reverence of the liturgy through sacred music.

A na ve of central New Jersey, I came to Pi sburgh in 2014 to begin my undergraduate studies in the School of Architecture at Carnegie Mellon University. Throughout this

me at CMU, I was fortunate to have many opportuni es to work as a liturgical musician while pursuing my lifelong dream of becoming an architect. Such opportuni es included posi ons at St. Anthony Chapel and Most Holy Name Church in Troy Hill, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Highland Park, and Sacred Heart Parish in Shadyside. Most recently, I served as the interim Organist and Choirmaster at Sacred Heart Parish, where I handled the administra ve du es of the music program, played the organ for four weekly Masses, and directed the choir, while overseeing the hiring process for a full- me music director.

I am highly involved in the local organ community, and am on the board of the Organ Ar st Series of Pi sburgh, an organiza on that promotes organ music and recitals in the greater Pi sburgh area. I also worked as a pipe organ designer and builder, most recently comple ng projects with Luley and Associates, an organ building firm based out of Highland Park.

I recently earned my Bachelor of Architecture and minor in Building Sciences from Carnegie Mellon University, and currently work as an architectural designer at Maclachlan, Cornelius & Filoni, a Pi sburgh-based architecture firm. I will con nue my goal of professional architectural licensure over the coming years while working at the firm. When not at work or on an organ bench, I enjoy drawing, pain ng, composing, design, and fine carpentry.

Recently as part of their effort to par cipate in the "Global Day of Giving" on October 24, ten enthusias c employees from Avison Young showed up at the Red Door ready to serve. Wearing navy blue t-shirts that stated "What a Difference a Day Makes", this group wanted to demonstrate as a group and as individuals that not only one day, but also one person, can make a difference. The team worked hard to prepare over 200 lunches as well as warm soup before opening the door to greet and serve our guests. It is always heartening to see our guest volunteers strive to reflect back the true dignity of each individual who comes to the Red Door for a lunch with a welcome smile and hospitality, and what's more, our Red Door guests seem to be blessed by the new faces coming to serve and striving to make a difference in their individual lives. Avison Young is a global, full-service commercial real estate company headquartered in Toronto, Canada, with a local office here in Pi sburgh at 4 PPG Place. The local office of Pi sburgh was one of 100 Avison Young offices par cipa ng in the Global Day of Giving. Thank you Avison Young for making a difference at the Red Door!! “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. “ Thessalonians 5:11
