APR Workshop on Fundraising

Dear Colleagues,

Greetings from the Asia- Pacific Regional Office!

The Asia-Pacific Region has been advocating and supporting NSOs in the area of resources development to gradually move towards self-reliance. This is also stated under the APR Plan 2012-2015 where one of the objectives under Finance is to support NSOs in capacity building through partnership and fundraising.

It is in this view that the Asia- Pacific Region is organizing the Asia-Pacific Regional Workshop on Fundraising to emphasize and use fundraising to expand the resources of NSOs and achieve their goals.

The Scout Association of Macau will host the workshop on 5-8 July 2014 with the following details:

Date: 05 - 08 July 2014(Arrival on 4th July, Friday and departure on 9th July, Wednesday)

Venue: Scout Association of Macau HeadquartersRotunda Tenente Pedro José da Silva LoureiroFortaleza da Taipa, Taipa, Macau

Participants: Key leaders responsible for Resources Development and/or Fundraising in National Scout Organizations at national level and sub-national levels, interested in the subject and willing to further share the knowledge back in the NSO as well as to undertake fundraising tasks benefitting the NSO.

Aim: The aim of this workshop is to help leaders understand the basic principles of fundraising and gain knowledge and skills in raising funds.

Objectives: To reinforce the principles of Fundraising To strengthen knowledge on various fundraising opportunities To share experiences of NSOs on Fundraising To equip participants with methods, techniques and tools for effective planning and implementation of fundraising projects. To draft fundraising projects based on the learnings during the Workshop

Registration Fee: USD $150.00 covers inland transport, Food and accommodation during the event, workshop materials, souvenirs, and educational tour

NSOs are requested to send their nominations using the attached reply slip latest by 30 April 2014.
