However, we only lost one person at the President’s Day Luncheon, which was well attended with 39 soles. Efforts to produce our Patriot’s Day Ceremony are now expanding and promises of a memorable service to those eleven Revolutionary War Soldiers buried in the Williamsburg Township Cemetery are coming to fruition. We still need help getting speakers for all events during the year. If you have ideas, or better contacts who are willing to add to the quality of programs please email me at [email protected] or call me at 513-251-7796. MESSAGE from the CINCINNATI CHAPTER PRESIDENT

Greetings Fellow Compatriots,

February has been a challenge weather-wise for some of our activities. However, we only lost one person at the

CINCINNATI CHAPTER SAR ACTIVITIES

* On January 30th, Compatriots Gerry Knight, Ken Carpenter and President Mike Gunn attended a Naturalization Ceremony officiated by presiding Judge Timothy S. Black at the United States District Court, Southern District of Ohio at 10:00 AM in Room 805. Seventy-three individuals were sworn in as new citizens of these United States of America. They came here from thirty-seven different countries.

* February 5th, Compatriot Ken Carpenter presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Barbara Stark and the Sharonville Elementary School, at the Princeton City School Board meeting at 7 PM. The meeting took place at the board office at 3900 Cottingham Drive, Cincinnati. Also present were Compatriots Jack Bredenfoerder and Jerry Knight. They were given note cards with a picture of the flag that was created by the students.

* February 6th, at 10:30 AM, the Harrison Symmes Memorial Foundation President William Henry Harrison 242nd Birthday Celebration Memorial Walk proceeded from the North Bend Municipal Bldg. to Harrison's Tomb. Chapter President Mike Gunn and Compatriots Jeff Hartman, Gerald Knight, Kenneth Carpenter and Jack Bredenfoerder served as the Color Guard for the memorial service. Brig. General R.A. Bassford of 88th RSC delivered the keynote address and laid the President's memorial wreath. A second presentation followed for the students of Taylor High School. * February 6-7th, OHSSAR Winter Quarter Executive Committee and Board of Management meetings were held at the Courtyard Marriot, in Stow, Ohio. Chapter attendees were OHSSAR 1st V.P. James D. Schaffer, and Compatriots Paul Wilke, Don McGraw, Mike Gunn, Lee Wilkerson and Ian Cunningham.

* At the Cincinnati Chapter BOM of February 11th, winners of the Chapter Eagle Scout Award and G.S. Knight Essay Scholarship Contest were recognized, William Thomas Dugger and Thomas Payne, respectively. The latest new member inducted was Ernest Lenard Hall. Supplemental awards were presented to Com-patriots Franz Ott, Larry Collins, and Ken Car-penter. Supplemental Awards have been mail-ed to David Edward Sandman Jr., Joseph Pat-rick Sandman, and Michael Norbert Sandman.

* February 13th, Compatriots Jerry Knight, Ken Carpenter and Mike Gunn attended the Naturalization Citizenship Ceremony held at St. Dominic Elementary School, 371 Pedretti Avenue. Students sang songs, and sixty new citizens were sworn in, coming from thirty-seven different countries. U.S. Magistrate Judge Stephanie K. Bowman officiated.

* On Saturday, February 14, 2015, Cincinnati Chapter Compatriots Paul M. Wilke, Donald C. McGraw, Jr., Gordon Stokely, Jr., and James D. Schaffer were speakers at the DAR Turtlecreek Chapter meeting at the historic Nixon-Brandt House (ca. 1808) in Lebanon, Ohio. The Cincinnati Chapter's Captain Howard Miller Memorial Flag Collection was presented to approximately 16 DAR members in attendance. There were many questions, indicating that the presentation was well received.

* February 20th, Compatriots Gerry Knight and Ken Carpenter attended the Naturalization Citizenship Ceremony held at St. James Elementary School, 3565 Hubble Rd. The Honorable Stephanie K. Bowman, U.S. Magistrate Judge, presided. * On Sunday, February 22nd at 1:30, the Cincinnati Chapter President's Day Luncheon was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Blue Ash. Christopher Smith, of the Hamilton County Public Library, spoke on the Cemeteries at Washington Park in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Compatriot Gordon Stokely presented each flag as it was described by Paul Wilke.
