Greetings From Father Jim …

Behind the Scene, with the Buildings and Grounds Committee

THIS SATURDAY OCTOBER 10 – WORKDAY AT ERNEST SITE, beginning at 8AM

PROJECT LIST: replace ceiling tile in basement and top of the stairs to the choir loft; replace Sanctuary lamp cable; purge choir loft area; kitchen organization; paint the hall floor – will probably need 2 or maybe 3 ses-sions; paint the entrance to the hall (back and house side); remove the punky pole near the church; install the parking lot signs; purge the festival room in the school; drainage issue at side of church – review or take ac-tion, depending on workers

***Please stop by when you can and lend a helping hand.*** At the recent joint meeting of the Finance Council and Building and Grounds Committee, approval was granted for the tree removal and trim at Ernest. So – the Ernest site will have a whole new look when these projects are completed!

Many thanks to the family that painted the handrails to the sacristy and the handicap ramp in Clymer. Looks great! Thanks also to those who replaced the outside spot lights that burned out and those who checked and repaired the electric receptacles that were not working – all at the Administration Center.

Work continues on organizing the tools and also liturgical items gathered from all sites for distribution to another site, to refurbish, sell or discard in the Clymer church hall.

As we all know, there is ALWAYS something to be done around the house, and that includes God’s house too! And we want to say, THANK YOU for your support via prayers, your donations to the project funds and any time you can spend helping out with the projects!

The Peter’s Pence Collection helps to fund the charitable works of the Holy Father. The proceeds from this collection provide emergency relief assistance to those throughout the world who suffer from war, oppression, and natural disasters. The Peter’s Pence Collection gives us the opportunity to extend a sign of peace to the Body of Christ around the world. Our gifts to this annual collection help the Holy Father to support people most in need of assistance. The Peter’s Pence Collection is used to strengthen dioceses, religious orders, and struggling communities of faith when they need it most.

This year the combined collection in our Diocese was changed to October 3rd and 4th. Any donations that have al-ready been sent in earlier this year will be added to this collection and given together. As always, Thank You for your support and generosity.

Faith Formation Classes for grades K, 1, 3, 4, 5, & 6 are to begin with at home learning on Monday, October 5th.

As a reminder for Faith Formation this fall, there are changes the way the program is being conducted. Since the Dio-cese has many guidelines and limitations regarding how Faith Formation can be conducted, we only have 2 classes meeting in person. The second grade class will meet on Monday nights in one area, and the 7th/8th grade combina-tion class will meet in another area. All other grades will receive books/materials from Catechists and will be taught at home by their parents/guardians. If at any time you need guidance or resources, please call the office. There will not be any registration the first night of classes October 5th. Books have been ordered based on the registra-tion forms that have been received. If you have not already registered your child, please contact Marie Kirsch.

Catholic Charities Collection

There are many natural disasters happening including Hurricanes Laura & Sally and the western wild fires. Many people are being affected and are in need of assistance. Please remember them in your prayers, and if you are interested in assisting those in need go online to: http://www.catholiccharitiesusa.org/ways-to-give.

The Church of the Resurrection is bringing you a new option to continue learning about your faith. We are very fortunate to qualify for a grant to provide each parishioner a subscription to the online learning tool FORMED. This is an amazing tool that helps deepen your faith and learn

things you may have never known. FORMED has programs for adults as well as children that come in varying formats: audio books, books to read, movies, music, reflections and many others. You can access it on your phone, ipad, computer, and ROKU or Apple TV. Once you are signed in on that device, it will automatically come up the next time you want to view it. To sign up: Go to www.formed.org. Click on - sign up and I am a member of a Parish. Then select - Church of the Res-urrection. Register with your name and email address. Your email will then be sent a link to begin using FORMED. That’s it! Then browse the website.
