Collection
September 3/4, 2016 A portion of today’s collection supports The Catholic
University of America (CUA) and its scholarship fund
for needy students. Contributions help strengthen
the work of our top scholars, many of whom help to
explain Catholic social teaching to the rest of the
world. It also helps support scholarships for
students in our diocese and others in achieving our
mission of preparing the next generation of leaders
for our Church and nation - including those studying
to become our future priests and religious. Your
generosity is appreciated.
Eucharistic Adoration - September 9
*** PLEASE NOTE *** Adoration Hours will be 9:30am - 9:00PM
On this weekend, when we rest
from our usual labors,
loving Father, we pray for all who
shoulder the tasks of human labor—in the
marketplace; in factories and offices; in the
professions, trades and vocations; and in family living.
We thank you, Lord, for the gift and opportunity of work; may our efforts
always be pure of heart, for the good of others and the glory of your name.
AMEN.
How must I transform myself so that I can
offer everyone His generous, compassionate,
self-sacrificing love?

Election Season has come,
and with it many
opportunities for us as
Catholics to influence the
directions taken by our
state and nation. Beginning
next week, the St. Agnes
Life and Family Ministry
will make available at the back of the church a flyer
with title “A Guide to Catholic Voting.” This flyer
summarizes a paper put out this year by our United
States Bishops, Forming Consciences for Faithful
Citizenship. November comes quickly amidst school
year duties ... thank you for reading, caring, and
participating!
Catholics Care. Catholics Vote. "We need to participate for the common good. Sometimes we
hear: a good Catholic is not interested in politics. This is not true: good Catholics immerse
themselves in politics by offering the best of themselves so that the leader can govern."
- Pope Francis, 9/16/13

Faith and Fellowship:
Beginning Fall Session on October 2nd If you have never participated we urge you to
prayerfully consider joining a group. Small groups of 8-10 participants meet at a mutually
convenient time for 90 minutes twice a month. Small
groups provide a format for participants to explore,
share and deepen their faith and friendship with
each other. Through the practice of small groups
many new friendships have formed and existing
friendships strengthened.
This fall the focus is Mercy. Through scripture and
reflection from Pope Francis we will explore
receiving, experiencing and practicing Mercy. It is
guaranteed to be an enriching, if not life changing,
experience for each of us as individuals and as a
parish. Don't miss out. Join the other 160 people
who already experience faith and fellowship.

How can I repay the Lord for all the good done for me? (Psalm 116:12)
Throughout the month of September, our liturgies will introduce the role of the disciple and his/her personal
response of gratitude for all that God has given. Stewardship is the intentional actions we take that answer
the question: “How can I repay the Lord for all the good done for me?”
Pope Francis’ Invitation to
A Season of Creation
Pope Francis has invited us to A SEASON OF
CREATION that began on September 1 with a
WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR THE CARE OF
CREATION and will end October 4 on the FEAST of
SAINT FRANCIS. While we always pray, this is a
month of special daily opportunities to join with
Pope Francis, Catholics around the world as well
as other people of faith “to cultivate the common
good for our common home”. So what do we do? If you love to “surf the net” we invite you to follow
the links posted here. There are moments of
prayer and moments of challenge for this month
as well as opportunities to continue your prayer
and interest going forward. http://catholicclimatemovement.global/world-day

september-1-creation-day-launched-at-wyd/ https://catholicclimatemovement.global/ www.youtube.com: On the site’s search bar
enter: laudato si pope francis You will have many
choices of videos appropriate for all age ranges. If you prefer print options, there are prayer
resources at the church entrances.
THEN TOGETHER: Join us for ADORATION OF THE
BLESSED SACRAMENT on September 9 anytime
between 9:45AM and 9:00PM. Bring your hopes,
your concerns and your dreams. There will be
prayers and meditations available. Just drop by
or come and stay knowing you and others all over
the world will be adding to the power of prayer
to heal Creation.
Over the upcoming weeks you will have the
opportunity to hear God’s message through the
readings and homilies: as you reflect on them ask
yourself the question, “How can I repay the Lord for
all the good done for me?”

God of compassion, we pray for our loved ones in the military, who offer themselves for the sake of others and who are separated from family and loved ones.
Care for them; meet their needs. Grant them courage, compassion, strength, and all they need for the living of these days. Sustain them through their every trial.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord we pray. Amen.
Our parish prays for all service members, and especially for:
Cp Christopher J. Freeman (US Marines), Lt. Jared Peledge (US Army Reserves), Sgt. Jeff Peledge (US Army Rangers), Spc. William T. Fisher (US Army),

Boston Priests. There for us.
At Saint Stephen Parish in Framingham, the lively multicultural community with a strong Hispanic presence has become an extension of Fr. Francisco “Paco” Anzoategui’s family. “We may speak dierent languages and have dierent traditions, but we are not two separate communities,” said Fr. Paco. “We are one family of believers with the same faith, and we are united in a wonderful bond that we call our spiritual family.”
To help ensure a continuum of care for Fr. Paco and all our devoted priests who faithfully serve our Catholic family please support the special collection on September 17-18.
