Well where did the last Twelve months go, Christmas 09 has arrived far too soon and it’s that time again to wish you the best of Christmases and Happiness and good Health for the forthcoming year. It has been another busy year for me which started with the preparation for Christmas on my own for the first time. I always though of my mother at this time of year with 18 grandkids and 11 great grandkids, now I can appreciate he stress she must have been under at this time of year. My Christmas was great but not the same without Olivia. Hollie and Duncan, Pat and Colin from Dunedin and PK and Peter from Cromwell all celebrated Christmas Day at Walnut Grove, and a great day it was with lots of food and drink. Duncan and Hollie Colin and Pat Peter and Pk Santa Hollie and Peter Christmas BBQ Niki and Becky and there familys celebrated Christmas in there own area so were not down in Cromwell at that time. Hollie, Duncan and I saw in the New Year next door with the Webb family and friends, another great evening. And so the year started, Old Cromwell had another Wine and Food Festival which was a great success. Wine and Food West Coast Cromwell Pie cart Rotary had another 4 X4 drive up in the mountains which went off well; I helped once again with the end of the day BBQ Hollie and I went to the west coast for a day trip, it was a good day but rained all the time we were there. We had lunch at the Cromwell Pie cart which is parked up at Jackson’s bay. It was a great to relax away from Cromwell. Hollie and Duncan decided to ride a part of the rail trail and take me along, just a day ride, just a few kilometres as it had been a few years since I had been on a bicycle. Wow what a ride, 63 k and 8 hours later we were at our destination for the car ride home. I had not been on a bike for 43 years so you can imagine how I felt. A fantastic day but never again. Adrian Duncan Hollie Hollie and Duncan’s engagement announcement was another special occasion for family and friends, this was celebrated in Dunedin and a great time was had by all, there wedding will be in October 2010  Duncan and Hollie I had a very good friend from Auckland down for a week to go trout fishing we had a good time around the lake and on rivers south of Queenstown, don’t ask how many fish we caught. Duncan’s parents Pat and Colin came over for a few days. One of Olivia’s cousins has also been over a few times from Dunedin for a visit. Easter and the school holidays ran together this year so Niki John and kids came down for a short break and Hollie and Duncan came over as well, we all had a good time together.  Maddi,Ashlee,Ella,Ben  Niki John Ashlee Ben Ella and Maddi are still in Christchurch, They have just moved house from north of the city to the south, a very nice home with extra room. Niki is still doing home help work and John is still very busy with the aircraft catering. The, kids are also busy with sports and youth group.  Becky Mata Caellum and Ethan are in Hamilton, Becky has now a permanent teaching job at the school and is finding it very interesting and challenging, Mata has just completed twenty-five years in the New Zealand Police and is still very  busy. Caellum and Ethan are still doing swimming and are doing very well at Karate. Both the boys have just earned the  black belt which is fantastic. All the kids are doing very well at school.

Christmas 2009.

Well where did the last Twelve months go, Christmas 09 has

arrived far too soon and it’s that time again to wish you the best

of Christmases and Happiness and good Health for the

forthcoming year. It has been another busy year for me which

started with the preparation for Christmas on my own for thefirst time. I always though of my mother at this time of year

Hollie is still working for an accountant in Dunedin and

sometimes finding it challenging but she is doing fine, Duncan

ost his job a short time ago when the Barbeque Factory closed

down in Dunedin, but is now Manager for another Barbeque

outlet called Four Seasons which has come to town he is also

doing well.

In May I decided to get away for a break driving from

Cromwell to Auckland visiting as many friends and relations on

he way as I could. One of the highlights was to catch up with

Roly and Mary Hume in Mt Maunganui on the weekend of D-

Day celebrations so could catch up with the celebrations at the

airport. I was away from Cromwell for three weeks.

Once again I was re-elected as President of the Cromwell and

Districts Promotion Group for the 2009-10 so I am busy with

heir activities once again. Thank goodness I have a first class

committee to help. Again this year we will be running our 

Cromwell Summer Series 2009-10 which is a Run-Walk-

Mountain Bike-Road Cycle and Triathlon-Duathlon, which will

go through to next April. Also the annual Fireworks display and

Cherry Pip Spitting between Australia and New Zealand.

In November I had a week in Christchurch helping with the

Cromwell Promotion at the Christchurch Show ,another week of 

hard work and fun.

Well that it from me for another year. Many thanks for the

continued support, phone calls and e-mails from family and

friends over the past year. It has been great to catch up.

I am not continuing with the Homestay but staying in Cromwell

so if you are passing and need a bed give me a call.
