Sew 2 Half Square Triangles, 1 gray stars 3½” square, and 1 taupe dot 3½” square together to create a Four-Patch Unit. Repeat to make 4 Four-Patch Units.

Draw a line from corner to corner on the wrong side of 8 gray stars 3½” squares. Place a square on top of a taupe dot 3½” x 6½” rectangle with right sides together and sew on the line. Leave a ¼” seam allowance and trim excess. Press. Repeat on the other side of the taupe dot rectangle. This will make 1 Flying Geese Unit. Repeat to make 4 Taupe Dot Flying Geese Units.

Draw a line from corner to corner on the wrong side of 8 red scallop 3½” squares. Place a square on top of a gray stars 3½” x 6½” rectangle with right sides together and sew on the line. Leave a ¼” seam allowance and trim excess. Press. Repeat on the other side of the gray stars rectangle. This will make 1 Flying Geese Unit. Repeat to make 4 Gray Stars Flying Geese Units.

Sew a Taupe Dot Flying Geese Unit and a Gray Stars Flying Geese Unit together to create Unit A. Repeat to create 4 Unit A’s.

Referring to block diagram for placement of pieces, sew together the 6½” gray snowman square, 4 Four-Patch Units, and 4 Unit A’s to create the Christmas Block.

BordersSeam allowances vary so measure through the center of the quilt before cutting border pieces. Sew border strips together end to end if necessary to get the length needed. Sew side borders first.

Border 1Side borders should be 18½”. Top and bottom borders should be 20½”.

Border 2Side borders should be 20½”. Top and bottom borders should be 28½”.

Border 3Side borders should be 28½”. Top and bottom borders should be 32½”.

Border 4Side borders should be 32½”. Top and bottom borders should be 42½”.

Finish quilt by layering the quilt top, batting, and back. Bind with your favorite Riley Blake fabric from the A Merry Little Christmas Collection. Have fun with your colors and enjoy the journey of making your quilt.

Christmas BlockNote: The red scallop print is directional. Be careful when drawing the diagonal line on the back of the fabric.

Draw a line from corner to corner on the wrong side of the red scallop 4” squares. Place red scallop 4” squares on top of the taupe dot 4” squares with right sides together. Sew ¼” on each side of the drawn line. Cut on the lines to make 8 Half Square Triangles. Press. Square up the Half Square Triangles to 3½”.
