What a week! We had a ton of fun and really had a great child to adult ratio! Many thanks
to the people who gave up their time and efforts to make it possible for 128 four-year old’s
to 6th graders to get to experience Jesus in a new way this week!

The Sunday VBS 10:30 a.m. Service attendance was 276! Tons of new families! Wow,
God!
Special Thanks: Morgan Hurt thanks so much for assisting the director and “MOrganizing”
everything with your team. To Waltham Farren for serving as our assistant director this
year! You did a great job especially for your first year! Andy Sawyer & Crew for cooking,
cleaning and serving! Gayla Corley & Crew for crafting it up every day! Kristina Sommer &
crew for running a great game time! Natasha & Jenna for leading the sing and play time,
leading opening and closing, and for filling the room with laughter every day with the
skits! Karl Hurt & Khristine Barnes for running all the tech and making the videos! Bible
Story Crew! Bethany & April Powls & crew for running the Kid Vid Station! I know there are
a ton more thank you’s needed—So from all of us at FCC “THANK YOU!” We could not
have done it without the 50+ volunteers who attended every day to make VBS possible!
The offering total this week was $752.06 brought in by the kiddos to support sending
students to Hidden Haven Christian Camp. If you would like to help send a student or a few
students to camp please notate on your donation envelope “Camp Fund” and place it in the
offering tray Sunday. Our children’s ministries are a hugely valuable part of our church! A
large percentage of our churches decisions of faith are made while at camp! Please
consider helping this year by sending a kid to camp! Blessings, Chris

Sunday School Class Reports
The Opportunity Class had 5 present Sunday. They had 3 with their Bibles and 2 daily
readers. Mary Hamilton opened the class with prayer. Prayers are being requested for Ruth
Allen and her family ~ all those who are fighting cancer and have lost loved ones ~ Our
military and leaders ~ Darwin Hamilton and Gladys Young. Mary Hamilton presented
Sunday’s lesson on “Parables of God’s Just Kingdom” Matthew 13:24-43. Mary closed with
prayer.
The SOS Class had 16 present Sunday. They had 12 with their Bibles and 9 daily readers.

completing Lesson 6 and beginning Lesson 7 on Heaven. The class closed with the “Lord’s
Prayer.”
We have arrived at that time of the year when we have the
privilege of selecting men of the church to serve in the
position of Elder / Deacon. Beginning Sunday, June 10 and
going through Saturday, June 30 members of First Christian
Church will be able to submit nominees for Elders and
Deacons. As you think about who to nominate as a candidate,
please pray for them and allow the Lord to lead you accordingly. If you have someone that

~ Happy Father’s Day!
~ The Baby Bottle Project ends Sunday, June 17 on Father’s Day. As you return
them you may deposit them in the white baskets located at the entries of the church.
We pray for our Fathers… Our Father, thank you for our earthly fathers. Bless them
and guide them as the loving Father that you are. Give them the strength to be kind, to pray,
to love as you love, and to bring their entire family into the kingdom.

The National Right to Life Convention will be held in Kansas City June 28
thru June 30 at the Sheraton Hotel in Overland Park, Ks. If you would like to

Coming in July: CIY MOVE in Nebraska is scheduled for Monday, July 9
thru Friday, July 13. This is for High School Students only including the
incoming freshmen and the graduating seniors. The signup sheet is located
on Legacy bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall.
Velma Dean Bilderback, age 96, of Garnett, KS passed away
Friday, June 8, 2018 at Guest Home Estates, Garnett. She was the
aunt of David Bilderback of Garnett. Graveside services will be
held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Greeley
Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Monday evening at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service,
Garnett. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greeley
United Methodist Church and left in care of the funeral home.
Thank you to our wonderful FCC family for the many, many
prayers and good wishes given on the passing of Charlene.
We’re still counting our blessings for all the good years she spent
in our family and in this church. While she is sorely missed here,
we are comforted to know she has gone to a better place. A
special thanks to the FCC Funeral Dinner Committee for the
enjoyable meal provided for the family following Charlene’s
Memorial Service—this was a much-appreciated ministry for which we should all be
grateful. Thank you so much. Burke Rogers and family.
Hidden Haven Christian Camp Scholarships: If you would like to sponsor a child to attend
HHCC this year you may do so by placing it in the offering plate on Sunday with a notation
saying “HHCC Scholarship Fund.” The cost to send a child is as follows:
High School & Middle School-$137 ~ 5 & 6 Gr - $122 ~ 3 & 4 Gr- $52 ~ 1 & 2 Gr - $37
If you wish to donate any of these items for Hidden Haven Camp please bring them by the

bottles of vanilla, 12 cans black olives, total 50 pounds flour, 5 bags brown sugar, 8-gallons
of bleach (make sure No add scent), 7 large boxes strawberry Jell-O, 2-gallons cooking oil.
