Festival Sustainability Overview

Mission:

deliver a high-caliber light art event

inspire Singaporeans

raise awareness on energy and sustainability relating to light useage

enhance the urban built environment

create positive long-term effects on energy reduction through quality low energy lightexperiences in public space

Event Sustainability Principles:

1. Energy reduction from lighting usage.2. Promote best practise in lighting design and light art for

quality after dark city experience.3. Promote dark city skies. People in cities require a

connection to the natural environment.

Vision: To identify and measure (where possible) significant environmental, social, economic, and cultural criteria relating to the light festival event.

Maximise the good stuff.

Minimise the bad stuff.

Communicate what we’re trying to do, and why, to everyone.

Educate and advocate behaviour change.

From 10 countries

Approximately 17 different types of events
