AFTER SCHOOL ART CAMPS! For young artists aged 7-10, the After School Art Camps are the perfect way for kids to delve into a fantastic range of artforms! Taking place throughout the Fall, each week-long Art Camp runs for five sessions, from 3:30-5:00pm, Monday to Friday. Students will also move on to the art of inking pencilled drawings to add colour and finally put it all together to tell a story. In these on-camera classes students will get to act and try scenes from movies, TV shows, and commercials. Kids will showcase their acting ability, no matter your skill level, learn professional acting techniques, get prepared to audition for agents and casting directors, and finally see themselves on the big screen for the final public showcase! POTTERY

EASY AS 1-2-3Clay Studio (adult) $99Sarah Belley 6:00 to 9:00pm• Thursdays (3 sessions) October 1 - October 15, 2015 Want to try a ceramics class but can’t commit to a full semester? This class is for you!

Three classes over three weeks will give you an introduction to ceramics and see you through all stages of creating objects in clay. Week one will be creating small objects in wet clay, week two will be working with dry and bisqued clay, and week three will be focused on glazing and surface techniques. A great class to take if you are interested in participating in open studios or self-directed projects.

CLAY CREATORS: HANDBUILDINGClay Studio (adult) $250Sarah Belley 10:00am to 12:30pm• Saturdays (8 sessions) October 17 - December 12, 2015 For beginners and intermediate artists who wish to create a variety of ceramic pieces without the use of a potters’ wheel.

This class will cover numerous dish making processes as well as many interesting surface techniques.

CLAY CREATORS: WHEELClay Studio (adult) $250Sarah Belley 1:30 to 4:00pm• Saturdays (8 sessions) October 17 - December 12, 2015 Wheel throwing for beginner pottery students or those wishing to continue to build their skills on the wheel.

Students will be taken through the entire process from creating on the wheel to the finishing off of their work through glazing and firing. This is an eight week course, with seven weeks of wheel work and one of glazing.

FORM & FUNCTION IN WHEEL Clay Studio (adult) $170Holly McKeen 6:30 to 9:00pm• Tuesdays (6 sessions) October 6 - November 17, 2015 Take your wheel thrown pottery to the next level with a focus on aesthetics of form and function.

This class will help more experienced pottery students who enjoy wheel-throwing to move their work ahead.

LIFE FORM SCULPTINGClay Studio (adult) $90 Self-Directed Class 6:00 to 9:00pm• Thursdays (4 sessions) October 29 - November 19, 2015

This non-instructional class will provide students with the opportunity to sculpt a life form figure, modelling one pose over four three-hour sessions. This format allows students to fully explore the contours and essence of the body in an in-depth manner, while encouraging the development of sculpting skills.

Clay and firing are not included in cost. Students may bring their own clay or purchase from The Centre Box Office.

GLASS BEADS Painting & Drawing Studio (adult) $155Alicia ChampLevel 1 6:30 to 8:30pm• Tuesdays (4 sessions) October 6 - October 27, 2015 An introduction to the basics of glass bead making. Learn how to create a bead from molten glass using a torch and glass rods. Experiment with stringers, frit, and dots and have fun learning a new hobby! Glass alchemy, studio set up, and safety will also be discussed.

Expand on the skills learned in Glass Beads 1 and take your bead making to the next level! Perfect your shape, make designs with dots and stringers, experiment with reduction glass and learn to manipulate the glass more effectively using tools.

GLASS, METAL & WIREPainting & Drawing Studio (adult) $165Alicia Champ 6:00 to 9:00pm• Thursdays (4 sessions) October 22 - November 12, 2015 This is an intense four weeks of jewellery making with fire, glass, and metal, using a broad variety of techniques. Each week students will learn and explore a specific jewellery-making technique; making glass beads, fusing glass to metal, and hand forging metal and wire with hammers. All these are ancient techniques still practised today... but with a modern twist! All equipment including earrplugs included.

Patti Lawn 5:30pm to 8:30pm • Monday November 9, 2015 This workshop will cover the process of making cold-pressed soap, including the tools and ingredients such as lye, fixed oils, fragrance oils, essential oils, micas, oxides, and natural colourants, before joining the instructor around the soap pot to make a batch of soap. You will take home at least 2 bars of colourful handmade soap, as well as an information booklet to help you with your home creations!

This class is designed for the beginning artist to help them in understanding and implementing the key artistic tools and techniques for creating a basic composition.

A 3 hour workshop exploring the unlimited ways to make earrings, wire, bead, hoop, etc, with the goal to have the skills to create over 100 different earring designs by the end of the workshop.

Have you ever wanted to learn to make earrings? To learn the secrets of jewellery designers to be able to create any design you want? Then this is the workshop for you! This workshop will cover basic earring construction, design, colour combinations and various different materials used in the making of earrings.
