Where the Wild Things Are• The front of the book has bright colours on it to attract children to read it. • Large, bold fonts are used, easy for children to read. • Only a sentence or two appears on a page with a large picture to go with it to

ensure that children can read this easily. • Font remains consistent throughout• There is a very simple but powerful morale about anger and escapism in this book

as well.• The author and illustrator of this book is a person called Maurice Sendak, a person

who is also responsible for creating a number of other children’s books.• The book is published by Red Fox; New Ed edition (4 May 2000)• The cover of the book comes in paper back or hard back. Hard back copies stop

Monsters Love Underpants• The book is by Claire Freedman and Ben Cort who wrote and illustrated it.• The book was published by Simon & Schuster Childrens Books (9 Oct 2014)• On the front of the text it has very simple, bright colours to attract children to

them. The font is also very sparkly for the same reason.• The humour in the book is also very immature, to make children laugh.• The pages are double to make the pictures large and easy to view and read.• The images are very interesting to look at as every monster are bright and varied.• The cover is hard back to protect it from damage from young children.• There are little words I a book. With two sentences per double page as children

will not be able to read at a very complicated level.• Serif font more or less consistent font but caps used to show a sound being loud.• Pages: 32 pgs• Dimensions: 24 x 0.9 x 27.8 cm

Hairy Maclary and Zachary Quack• The book is by Lynley Dodd (as Author and Illustrator). • The book was published by Puffin (5th August 2004)• A Clever rhyming, poetic title to interest children. Rhyming is also a theme

of the book and this is used to entertain children and teach them rhymes’.• Many children’s books include morals to teach children right and wrong.

This one teaches children about friendship and looking out for one another.• Very little on the cover. Few things but with bright colours.• Only two rhyming verses are featured on each page with an image of what’s

happening to go with it.• Constant serif font used with Capitals to show loud or important things.• Pages: 16 pgs• Product Dimensions: 13.3 x 2.2 x 16.4 cm• Language: English
