Weld number & Welder symbol are marked adjacent to welds. Note: Use suitable weather-proof permanent markers & materials, such as certified low-chloride (50ppm) markers for Stainless steel

Stainless Steel & Corrosion-Resistant Piping A) Welding Environment was acceptable B) Joint Prep & Cleaning was acceptable

Technique, Workmanship & Preheat A) Electrode type & Size limits B) Minimum distance between Welds & Weld Encroachment C) Preheat Requirements

If Charpy Impacts are specified in the WPS, a Procedure & Testing Equipment for Heat Input (H.I.) Measurement is required: A) Procedure & Calibrated Welding machines & portable calibrated amp/volt meter for WPS parameter & welder monitoring Is available at work site and is used continuously (in-process checks) B) Welders are closely monitored on initial production & are trained to follow the procedure parameters to meet H.I. requirements. C) Inspectors understand where to take travel speed measurement HI formula is: HI (J/cm) = Volt X Amp X 60/Travel Speed (cm/min)

All tack welds shall be made by qualified welders having valid JCC cards for the welding process and application used.

The minimum number of tack welds are as per Client requirements or as per best engineering practices(a) Pipe diameter of 101.6mm or less: three equally spaced tacks.b) Pipe dia. > 101.6mm: minimum of four equally spaced tacks.

Inert gas is used for GTAW or GMAW root passes on single-sided groove welds, on ASME P-No. 5 matls & above & maintained until 10mm of the weld deposit thickness is completed.
