How to Cheat Time with Bowen Therapy
• Fast recovery is the main idea for this webinar.
• Why some do get better quickly and others take longer.
• We’ll cover some options to speed the process up.

Most Treatment Plans
• Consist of a minimalist approach.
• Pauses are mandatory.

• Chronic Arthritis Fibromyalgia Chronic Back Pain Migraines

Back Strain leading to Sciatica
A common protocol I use: BRM 1, 2 Coccyx if there is one-‐sided spasm of the lumbar muscles Pelvic and Sacrum if there is misalignment of the Sacrum. If the pains are extreme and the client improves for only a short time I will have them return even as soon as the next day. Note: The leg & hip Qlex of coccyx and pelvic procedures can strain the back so I leave them optional.

Shortcuts
The above examples demonstrate a couple of ways we can save time. Both, in managing the client and during treatment sessions. There’s a simple logic to the ideas used. The symptoms and the patients response dictate the pace and amount of treatment you can use.

Risk to Shortcuts
We always need to take great care to not overwork the patient. We only want to generate the right level of momentum of healing. Generally the clients that respond well to these types of shortcuts fall into 2 types:
1. Acute and aren’t likely to aggravate more. There’s a Qine balance to knowing when too much has been done. I use temperature to guide me.
2. Chronic patients that come for remedial treatment. They are aware there’s a mild aggravation and period of processing the treatment over the days that follow it but for them it is worth having all their needs met in a time efQicient manner. www.bowen-online.com
Time Waits for Everyone
Time is a very important element to consider with Bowen Therapy and we must measure the effects of every procedure both during and following each step and each complete treatment.
We allow time in the following ways:
1. Pauses can be much longer for the major areas of concern.
2. Time for the patient to respond following treatments.

TMJ & Sinus When treating Allergies, Sinusitis we always utilize the TMJ procedure. When there is some inQlammation or congestion in the frontal sinuses I add the Sinus procedure immediately after the TMJ.
If the emphasis of the problem is in the TMJ then I wait to see a change there before considering the Sinus procedure.

Time Saving Procedures
Shoulder and Biceps I have often chosen to perform the shoulder procedure on the Qirst visit and I base that decision on a measure of both the acuity of the situation and the vitality of the patient.
One of the most common situations in treating shoulder problems is one where we might miss the tendon that is actually most needing attention.
I will often use the Biceps Procedure immediately following after the Shoulder Procedure I also perform Move 1 of the Elbow Procedure to address the Mid-‐deltoid tendon.
