Intro:  Cheap taser from fly trap rocket !! 1500 volts !!hi,

i always wanted to make a taser that's cheap and works well without doing much about it .what you need is :

- fly trap rocket- 2 spikes- some plastic- fine wire- soldering kit

tell me what you think about this instructable !!!here is a video of the taser in action on a screw driver :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zicXSMCvkU0

========================please rate it to !!!!!!========================

step 1: transforming the original rocketfirst open up the rocket (without the batteries in it)

first we are going to cut the 2 wires that run from the circuit board to the yellow piece.anddesolder the two wires from the circuit board also

dont forget to rate !!!

Image Notes1. cut and desolder2. also cut and desloder

Page 3: Cheap Taser From Fly Trap Rocket 1500 Volts

http://www.instructables.com/id/cheap-taser-from-fly-trap-rocket--1500-volts-/

step 2: add new wiresafter soldering the 2 new wires in to place , we have to make a holding for the spikes and connect each wire to a spike

rate are the boogie man will get ya !! xD

Image Notes1. the new wires2. the new wires3. the spikes

step 3: making the part for the spikesfor this step you will need some plastic , i used a plastic little box thing to store an sd memory card in

you wil have to cut and try some different shapes , it might be that you have to grind some plastic away to make room for the spikes where the screw is placed

rate this stuff mkay !!

Image Notes1. the screw hole , it's here where the twospikes are going to bounce against2. a plastic piece with two holes in it3. the same as inside but then at the outside to tendre the spikes on to the rocket handle4. and the 2 spikes that are connected to circuit board

Page 4: Cheap Taser From Fly Trap Rocket 1500 Volts

step 4: isolating the screw at the spikesyou will have to isolate the screw that's at the top where the spikes are , because other wise the screw will short circuit .

aaaaaaaaaaaah timmy !! please don't forget to rate mkay ? xD

Image Notes1. i did it here with a bit of standard tape because it's so thin

step 5: finished product !!here you have the finished product when you put everything togheter , , and put th ebatteries in and try it first on a screw driver and then on yerself so yoy now what otherpeople will feel if you use it xD

step 6: finished product 1500 volts !!!i have measured the volts on the two spikes and i had around 1500 volts !!!have fun with it !!

remember that you are busy with some shocking stuff xD

fatrickuk says:  Apr 30, 2008. 4:45 PM  REPLYI don't understand how you can get 1500V. Is it powered by normal batteries? How is it possible?

jake the bom says:  Dec 8, 2009. 2:05 AM  REPLYCapacitors

alex4421 says:  May 3, 2008. 6:07 AM  REPLYthere is a transfo that double's the batteries multiple times

kick1ass20 says:  Aug 13, 2009. 6:54 AM  REPLYim sorry but whats a fly trap rocket, ive googled it and all i found was these pics on instructables

alex4421 says:  Aug 13, 2009. 8:13 AM  REPLYit's to kill fly's it has the shape of a tennis rocket with current on the wires, when you push the button and hit a fly, then the current will kill the fly :)

g3thig4chri5 says:  Nov 11, 2009. 5:54 AM  REPLYrA cket,  not rocket

el_nico_dor says:  Aug 16, 2009. 6:47 AM  REPLYI think what you ment is a fly swatter?? and by the way it is not a 'rocket' it is a RACKET.Tried the project it is fun! :)

kick1ass20 says:  Aug 16, 2009. 11:47 PM  REPLYHey it says in the instructions, fly rocket, it's the author that said that, i'm just quoting it.

firefighter1333 says:  Aug 30, 2009. 11:08 PM  REPLYcould u actually use this for a power device for a coil gun? PLS ANSWER!!!

alex4421 says:  Aug 31, 2009. 2:42 AM  REPLYi don't know if this will be powerfull enough

firefighter1333 says:  Aug 31, 2009. 7:37 AM  REPLYif the barrel will be for .079? (2 mm), COULD it then work? (wanna make a mini coil gun, cuz that would be totally rad, right?) and the projectile had atleats to be ferrowmagnetic ait? ty alrdy!

firefighter1333 says:  Aug 30, 2009. 1:12 AM  REPLYi saw a bunch of them in the store, I KNOW WHAT I'LL BUY TOMORROW

Biopyro says:  May 2, 2008. 6:07 AM  REPLYYou sir, are a genius. I have bought my fly swatter and am modifying it now! I think it would be more appropriately called a cattle prod though

Biopyro says:  May 4, 2008. 1:34 PM  REPLYFinished! mine has only one voltage multiplier and only gets 420VDC, but it's still pretty painful :D You can pick one of these up off ebay for £4 ($8)

thewalrusoflove says:  Aug 22, 2009. 5:39 AM  REPLYI got one from "Jacks", which is sort of a DIY/outdoor store, for £1.50. I used 4 AA batteries in it, and it hurts. Alot.

 Coffee bean says:  Dec 31, 2008. 7:32 PM  REPLYIt isn't a TASER.

el_nico_dor says:  Aug 16, 2009. 6:54 AM  REPLYso what would you call it??

babbs1st says:  Jan 22, 2009. 10:59 AM  REPLYif you put a capacitor from a disposable camera it's a hell of a lot stronger but I can't work out on this thing where the capacitor is as it's not round like usualis it the big thing with yellow tape on it

omnibot says:  Jul 18, 2009. 9:13 AM  REPLYAs Des1973 said, this is a voltage multiplier but if you can figure out wich of the output prongs are + and - the connect a photoflash cap there, it shouldgive quite a boost at initial contact.

Des1973 says:  Feb 12, 2009. 2:45 AM  REPLYno, the big thing with yellow tape on it is the step-up transformer. the capacitors, 4 in this circuit, are the square/rectangular green things. they'reconnected to the diodes & form a voltage multiplier (4x).

Rs master says:  Aug 18, 2009. 5:14 PM  REPLYno its not a transformer its a dc to dc converter

mdudekel says:  Jul 5, 2009. 3:01 AM  REPLYi have fly racket with built in charger, it seems deadly because when i hunt stupid flies, then if they get into the fly rocket net or what u call that metal oraluminum net blablabla, they sparks like hell, omg im excited to test this intractable on my friends, they gonna die ouching, lols, to all, if you are interestedmaking this thingy, use it wisely, dont use it to your mom or you will get spanked, chow

Coz_UK says:  Mar 19, 2009. 1:58 PM  REPLYVery cool gadget! Recently found one for cheap, so I had to buy it! Call it a version 2.0 of your original mod. :) Added some warning stripes, and used smallspikes made from Dremel bits (I was humane - they were well used beforehand!). Used rubber grommets to hold them in place. Also added a 'safety catch' -a flick switch between the battery and the circuitboard - no more accidental self-zappings! It's soldered in & glued. Final mod was purely asthetic - a blueultrabrite LED in place of the boring red one - Much cooler! Sharpie to blacken the screws. Gets 780 volts with fresh Duracell AAs. Still hurts! Thanks for thegreat Instructable, Alex! C.

yuckzee says:  Jan 9, 2009. 3:30 PM  REPLYok this sounds off a bit but ive seen videos of people getting tazed by 300k volts and that only stuned them so much...so i dont realy see 1500 volts doing awhole lot...but i may be wrong. who knows =\

alex4421 says:  Jan 9, 2009. 4:28 PM  REPLYlook: the amps kill people voltage doesn't, a real low currect of 1 amp can kill someone, that's why the amps are low sow they don't kill people by usingthe taser. but the higher the voltage the better the amps will have an effect your body, if the voltage is low, you won't feel the amps, and when it's highenoug you can feel the low amps, and the low amps will paralyze the body, because the amps from the tazer overcome the ones of your body(muscles),so you don't have the controle over it.

FaqMan says:  Jan 7, 2009. 2:29 PM  REPLYOne of the much better Tazers on here and a good design.

milamber says:  Jan 5, 2009. 2:03 AM  REPLYwere do u get the bug zaper thing

The Stans Mysterium says:  May 20, 2008. 8:03 AM  REPLYSeems kinda dangerous but a nice instructable, good clear instructions and pictures. Approxomately how big is it?

ReCreate says:  Dec 19, 2008. 9:43 PM  REPLYthe picture makes it seem like the size of a pen

chickenliver123 says:  Dec 5, 2008. 10:21 PM  REPLYhey this instructable is awesome, ill make one as soon as i get spikes, but i dont know where to get them, any suggestions? i rated too

alex4421 says:  Dec 6, 2008. 1:08 AM  REPLYi got them in a store that sell many things in that style: gothic... maybe on the internet ?

Calaad says:  Sep 24, 2008. 3:33 PM  REPLYFreaking.Awesome. I'm going to make it this weekend!

Thelonelysandwitch says:  Sep 7, 2008. 7:27 AM  REPLYIf you use it for self defense and it dosen't hurt on the attacker, you can stab them with the spikes :)

wesz says:  Aug 28, 2008. 4:47 AM  REPLYi searched for this a long time and now i finally found it!!! i'll buy the stuf soon and wen i have tested it i'll rate it

alex4421 says:  Aug 28, 2008. 9:08 AM  REPLYthat's why i made this instructable, because i wanted a good working en easy method and also easy to make

Rye2121 says:  Aug 8, 2008. 6:36 PM  REPLYcan u use a nail or something like that for the spikes?

Rye2121 says:  Aug 9, 2008. 9:40 AM  REPLYi made one and it hurts like hell

 Rye2121 says:  Aug 9, 2008. 9:40 AM  REPLYwith a screw

alex4421 says:  Aug 9, 2008. 2:13 AM  REPLYyou can use everything that conducts an electric current, wire, nails, car(extreme example xD)

skok says:  Jul 10, 2008. 5:23 PM  REPLYI used to have one of these rackets. I saw a 2for1 deal for them in a magazine the other day and this is exactly what I thought of doing with them. The "heavymetal" spikes are an excellent idea for contacts. Good job. 5 Stars!

dj whatever says:  Jun 16, 2008. 6:54 AM  REPLYtry to put a 9 volt battery... and good hunting... and great for self defence thnx I'll do it.

alex4421 says:  Jun 16, 2008. 1:28 PM  REPLYi can try a 9 v battery but i don't now if the rest of the partscan handle that voltage ... :p

dj whatever says:  Jun 16, 2008. 1:51 PM  REPLYhere in greece we say if you don't try you don't know. well i will try it with several batteries. oh and it is an a w s o m e instructable (forgot to say thatat the begining)

Juklop says:  Jun 3, 2008. 9:20 PM  REPLYThat's frikken' gnarly, dude.

alex4421 says:  Apr 27, 2008. 9:43 AM  REPLYa batterie doesn't gives much amps, not even enough to kill someone , in this device they double the voltage a couple times so th eamp go even more downthen the betterie gives , so for normal healthy people this is not dangerous, the high voltage just makes the little currect jump over and pushes the currenttrough something . it stays an instructable , project or wathever you call it . so it isn't deadly , i even did it 2 times on my own and it isn't hat bad !!

davethescubarock says:  Jun 3, 2008. 1:45 PM  REPLYThats my sort of maker!! You make something dangerous and test it out on yourself because, like me, you have no idea when you would ever use it onanother person!! *high 5s*

oannes says:  May 12, 2008. 6:04 AM  REPLYvery beautifull!you could probably paint the plastic parts black too!it would be a bit better!NICE!!

 alex4421 says:  May 12, 2008. 6:01 AM  REPLYthat's a realy good idea !! thank you !!
