This 90° V8, 4-stroke DOHC engine was fitted with 4 valves per cylinder. To meet the 3 litre displacement limit that was implemented in Formula 1 in 1966, it had a capacity of 2,993 cc. It delivered 450 hp at 10,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 245 ft.lb at 8,500 rpm. Champion G54V ignited Champion provided G54V spark plugs for the ignition.
