Hines VA Support Employment Program As a follow up to a Chamber business meeting, the Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with Hinsdale VA would welcome the opportunity to have Chamber members come to Hines VA to meet with their program staff and learn more about their business needs. Each relationship we develop with an employer is unique and structured with what works for that employer. It’s advantageous to our program when we have the ability to connect with an employer individually to learn more about their business, diversity and inclusion or accommodations in the workplace. This allows us the ability to screen for and refer Veteran candidates that would not only meet the qualifications for openings but would be a fit for that environment. As well swe can provide information to employers that may be able to benefit from tax incentives for hiring Veterans and/or individuals with disabilities. The completion of the construction at Route 83 and 63rd Street is scheduled to be completed by the end of November. Traffic movement and patterns will return to normal.

Free Utility Bill Information Clinic House Republican Leader Jim Durkin and the Citizens Utility Board (CUB) are hosting a free utility bill clinic on Friday, October 30th, from 9am-Noon at the Willowbrook Village Hall, 835 Midway Drive. The Redlight Cameras are up and running again after a recent upgrade to the system.

2015 Giving Tree Program Denise Marchetti (Mutual of Omaha) is chair of the Giving Tree Program sponsored by the Willowbrook/Burr Ridge Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Women In Business.

Plans are underway to begin our Giving Tree program that helps numerous charitable organizations in our local area. In case you are not familiar with this program, which is in its 11th year, please read the simple explanation that follows. Christmas trees are put up in community centers and local businesses throughout our area. These host businesses are listed with their addresses so you can go to the one nearest your home. The ornaments have items listed that the charitable organizations are in need of and are wishing for this holiday season. You only have to go and choose an ornament, shop for the item(s) listed on the ornament, then bring it back unwrapped with the ornament attached. The Giving Trees will be up at their locations on Monday, December 1 and will stay up until December 24.
