KattleGuardSince 2000, Dairy Solutions Inc. has

focused on solving the problems facing dairy farms and dairy farmers. The company

was formed with a mission to develop products and services that address the issues that cause animal stress, result-ing in higher costs and lower profits. We also make a strong commitment to animal safety and protecting the environment. We believe that relieving stress and protect-ing dairy cows with innovative products makes them more productive – resulting in more profitable farms. In addition, it’s key that our products have a low impact on the environment. We accomplish this by reducing waste and runoff, so chemicals and toxins don’t get into the soil and affect milk quality or animal health. A win-win situation all around. The Dairy Solutions team also knows the financial implications to dairy farmers, which is why our solu-tions yield higher profits, shorter payback times and a higher return on investment. The KattleGuard Fly Control and Hoof Care systems fall squarely into this objec-tive. With animal health and welfare top of mind, the results have been remarkable. Not only are dairy farms more efficient and productive, farmers’ profits soar and

they know their prize animals are safe and happy.

The KattleGuard Fly-Spray System cou-pled with our proprietary chemical insec-ticide is simply the best fly control system on the market today. It unites effective, continuous fly knockdown and protec-tion with simplicity and automation. The KattleGuard Automatic Footbath System is the hassle-free way to keeps cows’ feet treated seven days a week. Unlike tradi-tional baths, your cows get fresh cleaning solution applied to all four feet each and every treatment. This self-cleaning unit eliminates manure build-up in the system and fights the cross contamination com-mon in traditional footbaths. This unique hoof care solution was called the “One of the Best New Products in 2011” by Dairy Herd Management magazine.

Although Kattleguard has been in the Central Valley for many years, our business office has recently relocated to Tulare from Raymore, MO. Please contact our owner, John Greeson, at (559) 686-4600 if you would like to know more about our com-pany or would like more information on our innovative products. Ben has been married for 17 years and his daughter is currently attending Summit College Academy in Porterville receiving straight A’s. His daughter’s school focuses on high education and college prep. Ben loves to go white water rafting down the Mighty Kern River, enjoys cooking especially at

family events and BBQs. Ben finds the most enjoyment from training and developing employees. He loved educating his team on how to interact with people and sell not just food

but the experience of dinning in at Cool Hand Luke’s.

Ben believes in the spirit of the Tulare Chamber of Commerce that provides endless resources for employee relations, networking opportunities, and community involvement and progress. He feels strongly about giving back to your community. Community involvement cre-ates a Cinergy that promotes citizens and busi-ness owners to work together for the better good of Tulare. The Chamber is the flagship of the community. The Tulare Chamber of Commerce is honored to potentially have Ben sit on their 2014 Board of Directors.

Tulare High School District inaugurates new Foundation with 5K Rivalry RunBy Dr. Sarah Koligian

New Education FoundationThe Tulare Joint Union High School

District kicked off its new Education Foundation to support the 4 A’s; Academics, Agriculture, Arts, and Athletics, with the first-ever Tulare 5K Rivalry Run fund-raiser. Each school within the district competed with one another by trying to garner the highest percentage of partici-pants per school enrollment. Participants included staff, students, parents, family members, children in strollers and even pets. The event had over 100 participants and raised over $2000.

Tulare Western High School won the perpetual “Golden Track Shoe” trophy with the most participants this year. The trophy will proudly be displayed at Tulare Western for the rest of the year. The Foundation’s kickoff extravaganza dinner-show is planned for the end of March. We encourage parents and community members to attend this gala event which will include a delicious first-class dinner followed by a special performance by our high school students. If you are interested in more information, please call Tulare Joint Union High School District at 688-2021 or check out the Foundation website link found at www.tulare.k12.ca.us.

Rotarians give dictionaries to third gradersEach year the two Rotary clubs in Tulare

team up to give out free dictionaries to every 3rd grade student in Tulare and sur-rounding schools. This year over a three day span in late September Rotarians covered 16 schools and gave out approximately 1300 dictionaries. The goal of this program is to assist all students in becoming good writers, active readers, creative thinkers, and resourceful learners by providing them with their own personal dictionary. The

dictionaries are a gift to each student to use at school and at home for years to come. This program was started nine years ago to promote literacy and education in our com-munity.
