Course selectionFull-time studies at Chalmers is30 credits per semester,1 credit is equal to 1 ects.You can select courses from differentsubject areas but it is important thatyou fulfill the prerequisites for eachcourse.
Welcome programChalmers organize a Welcome programfor all new incoming exchangestudents. This program includes amongother things a tram race, Swedishdinner, trip to IKEA, sauna experienceand a boat trip to the archipelago.

The city of GothenburgGothenburg, on the west coast of Sweden, is the biggest port in the Nordicregion. It is a city of bridges, hills, water, trams and seafood restaurants. Withits 500 000 inhabitants, Gothenburg combines the safety and intimacy of thesmall town with the possibilities of the big city. The city has a friendlyatmosphere with plenty of cafés, restaurants and pubs, wide avenues andbeautiful parks and gardens.
A research-intensive regionAmong the ten largest companies in the Gothenburg region are research-intensive industries like telecom giant Ericsson and pharmaceuticalcorporation AstraZeneca. A cornerstone of the regional development is ofcourse the automotive industry, led by Volvo Cars and Volvo Trucks.
Together with ball bearing specialist SKF and major chemical companiessuch as Akzo Nobel and Eka Chemicals, these companies attractsubcontractors, which in turn have a positive effect on the region. Chalmersof course maintains close relations with many of them.
ApplicationExchange students must be nominated by their home university to be able to study atChalmers. Once nominated, you will receive information regarding the online application.
The application deadline for studies starting in the autumn semester isMay 1 and the application deadline for studies starting in thespring semester is November 1.
