International Conference on Noise and Fluctuations ontpellier 2013 Description The ICNF conference is a biennial event that brings together researchers interested in theoretical and experimental aspects of fluctuations across a wide spectrum of scientific and technological fields. ICNF?2013 will address a broad variety of topics covering fundamental aspects of noise and fluctuations, as well as applications in various fields. Noise and fluctuations are acquiring an increasing importance in science and technology, as witnessed by the growing number of publications in this field that appear in leading journals. This is the result of the realization about the importance of fluctuations in new areas of human knowledge and in the raising awareness of the role they play in defining the ultimate miniaturization limits of devices for information storage and processing. The contributions related to biological, as well as interdisciplinary aspects of noise and fluctuations research will also be considered. The 22nd edition of the conference (ICNF?2013) will be held in Montpellier (France), from June 24th to June 28th, 2013. The scientific program will include plenary and invited lectures, oral contributions and poster presentations. We believe that ICNF?2013 will be an opportunity for noise researchers operating in very different areas of scientific and technological endeavor, with diverse backgrounds, to come together and create the basis for renewed cross?fertilization and collaboration. Previous editions The present edition of ICNF is the continuation of a series of International Conferences on Fluctuation Phenomena that began in Nottingham in 1968 and of the International Symposium on 1/f Fluctuations that started in Tokyo in 1977. In 1983 in Montpellier the two conferences were combined into the International Conference on Noise in Physical Systems and 1/f Fluctuations (ICNF). Since then, editions of ICNF have been held every other year in Rome in 1985, Montreal in 1987, Budapest in 1999, Kyoto in 1991, St. Louis in 1993, Palanga in 1995, Leuven in 1997, Hong Kong in 1999, Gainesville in 2001 (where the title was changed to International Conference on Noise and Fluctuations), Prague in 2003, Salamanca in 2005, Tokyo in 2007, Pisa in 2009 and Toronto in 2011. Chairmen Chairman: Luca Varani (Univ. Montpellier 2) CoAchairmen: Fabien Pascal (Univ. Montpellier 2) Jean?Marc Routoure (ENSICAEN) Proceedings All submitted contributions will be reviewed by two independent referees and finally published as IEEE Proceedings with full citation features and ISBN. ies Organizers
