this grower had a lot(s) of seed potatoes in his farming operation rejected due to bacterial ring rot. Any seed lot

with an * in its designation shall not be eligible for re-certification the following year except by the original

grower or the farming operation where bacterial ring rot was identified. The * symbol will also be printed on all

of the grower’s tags and bulk certificates. (Note: for the 2018 crop, no bacterial ring rot was observed in the

certification program.)

Seed certification is made by the Colorado Potato Certification Service of Colorado State University (the “PCS”) pursuant

to Colorado law (CRS §35-27-101 et seq., as amended). “Certification” of any seed by the PCS means only that:

• the seed potatoes were visually inspected while growing in the field; and

• random samples of seed potato lots were again visually inspected at a post harvest test plot in accordance with

the Rules and Regulations for Certification of Seed Potatoes published by the PCS in cooperation with the

Colorado Certified Potato Growers Association; and

• based on such inspections, the seed potato lots listed here were found to be in compliance with the applicable

standards set forth in the Rules and Regulations.

Certification of any seed lot is not a guarantee or warranty that the certified seed lot is free from defects such as

disease, rot, or other condition that may affect seed quality and ability to sprout and grow normally.
