The Central European Initiative Wholesale Markets Foundation (CEI WMF) – a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) associating Wholesale Markets from transition countries in Central and Eastern Europe Established with the assistance of:
• European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) • Central European Initiative (CEI) • Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) • United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE)
Registered in Poland in 1999 The founding members:
• Croatia - the National WM Company Croatia • Hungary - the Budapest WM • Poland - the Warsaw WM Bronisze
Foundation history
The Foundation is managed by Management Board. The present Management Board members are from:
• Croatia • Hungary • Poland • Romania
The Foundation Programme Council supervises the Foundation activities – chaired by Ukraine General Secretary: Poland

The primary objective of CEI WMF: to help the newly created wholesale market companies in Central and Eastern Europe to develop and improve their operations
to better serve their clients to increase the WMs revenue earning capabilities

The Foundation assists its members in adaptation of their operations to the requirements of the present marketplace through the provision of advanced logistic services to enable the WM to diversify their sources of income
The Foundation offers benchmarking opportunities that can be translated into practical solutions adaptable in local environments of its member countries
The Foundation aims to raise the visibility of its members with local policy-makers and institutions, drawing on the experience of countries in or outside the region
Improvement in WM business operations
The Foundation serves as a platform for exchange of expertise among its member WMs and external parties related to various technical, management and operational issues
• Regular seminars, workshops and study tours by the Foundation members organized twice a year in member and non-member countries:

On the CEI WMF website - a price quotation system with selected fruit and vegetables representative for CEE countries, updated by the Foundation members on a weekly basis
The Foundation members offer support to their partners in establishing business relations in their member countries to improve trade relationships between businesses from the member countries
• 28 May 2012 – the Foundation and the Warsaw WM from Bronisze, Poland organized the I Forum of Traders and Producers from Wholesale Markets of Central and Eastern Europe
a new initiative of the Foundation extending the debate platform to include representatives of the WM operators – producers, wholesale buyers and sellers to have a joint discussion on the current market operational issues with more industry players
business opportunities offered during the Forum – visits of the I Forum participants to a number of Polish producer companies
