Individual Tickets or Sponsorships of four (4) at: www.CentralCoastClaims.org Tuesday, July 21, 2015 I would like to thank all of our wonderful members that have attended the CCCA luncheons in the last two months. We have some very dedicated members and vendor partners that have stepped up to breathe life into OUR association! I don’t say “OUR” loosely. It is only by OUR combined efforts, and mutual desires, that we will grow and become a great organization once again. I have had folks come up to me and ask why we attend these functions and belong to these organizations? Each of us has our own reasons. Whether it is for education, networking, or to just step away from the desk for a few, we are finding there is still a need, want and desire to have the CCCA. Please let us know how we can make this association better, for you and others. A big Thank You to Ulises Castellon for a great presentation in May! He is always entertaining and informative, and we look forward to having him back again. In June, Ruth Griffith presented an ethics course to a very engaged membership. Thank you for taking the time to travel from Rocklin to do this for us. Currently we are working with an interim board. If you or someone you know would like to step up and work with us to develop plans for the future of the CCCA, please let one of us know! Fresh ideas and energy are always welcome! There will be a board of directors election in October for the 2016 term. Our board is working on more educational luncheons, and some fun networking events. Remember to check back on our website, and read the newsletters for updates! Next up…. CCCA’s night at the Oakland A’s! We look forward to seeing you! CCCA Back Up and Running! CE Course on Ethics Benefits all at June CCCABy Lynna Harrison, Association News Network, Inc.

Ruth Griffith, owner of Servpro Auburn/Rocklin, gave a very comprehensive, entertaining and thought provoking California Education (CE) Credits Course for the Central Coast Claims Association meeting on June 18, 2015 Ruth is a Certified Instructor and kept the crowd engage in the topic."Honesty isn't the best decision, it's the only policy," she quote from George Mecherle, the Founder of State Farm Insurance.. He also said "Everyday we all make choices. We do what is right, not just legal.”Ruth spoke about the Rotary organization and their “Four Way Test”: 1) Is it the truth? 2) fair to all concerned? 3) Will it build goodwill and better friendships? and, 4) Will it be beneficial to all concerned? We were told adjusters follow the requirements in the Sarbanes–Oxley, Sarbox or SOX, is a United States federal law that set new or expanded requirements for all U.S. public company boards, management and public accounting firms. There are also a number of provisions of the Act that also apply to privately held companies, for example the willful destruction of evi-dence to impede a Federal investigation.“Ethics/character is choosing to do the right thing even when no one is watch-ing. Actions speak louder than words. We have to answer to ourselves.”Ruth also mentioned the book “Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen Covey as a guide. She re-enforced that the responsibility of an adjuster is to put the clients’ inter-est at the forefront. Good judgement, honesty/truth, respect and compassion go a long way. She suggested to make ev-ery effort to see both sides, use your integrity, always be accountable and work to gain trust..It was a very interesting re-minder of how our everyday lives should be conducted. 50/50 Raffle prize went to CCCA President,

April Wilkinson, of David Morse & Associates.

As is generally the case, the food menu at Scott’s in Downtown San Jose was delicious!

Independent Adjuster Jerome Nedd, of Eagle Adjusting Services, Inc., and longtime CCCA member, Ann Marie Yadegar, were amongst those receiving the three (3) CE course creidts.

CCCA Treasurer and Past President, Shelly Lefore, above right, thanked Ms. Griffith and presented her with a token thank you gift card.

Ruth Griffith presided over a three (3) credit Continuing Education luncheon course at the June 18, 2015 CCCA.
