SSggtt.. GGaabbrriieell JJ.. MMeeiinnttss graduated from Enlisted GreenPlatoon on Oct. 24, 2012. This was an intense six weekcourse to join the 160th Special Operations AviationRegiment (Airborne). The 160TH SOAR (A) is a specialoperations unit of the United States Army that provideshelicopter aviation support for general purpose forcesand special operation forces. Its missions includeattack, assault and reconnaissance, and are usually con-ducted at night, at high speeds and on short notice.Gabe’s class started out with 117 soldiers and he was oneof only 37 that graduated. He is a Special OperationsSgt. assigned to the 4-160th SOAR (A) stationed at JointBase Lewis-McChord in Washington State.

Mrs. Peshak was born Margaret Jayne Martin inManly, Iowa. She was married to Theodore J. “Ted”Peshak of Plymouth, Iowa, for 66 years until his death in2005. She was the mother of two sons, Gary Peshak ofTennessee, and Gayle (Skip) Peshak of Arizona, and thesister-in-law of Lavonne Gregory of Iowa.
