The CEA MoDev Hackathon is where developers compete on the world’s technologystage at the International CES. This exclusive event will be a live competition to seewho’s got the best idea and the skills to bring it to life in just one day. Twenty-five teamsof up to four people will compete for glory and over $25,000 in cash and prizes. Spotsare available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Hackathon Schedule:

8 a.m. check-in, breakfast and networking8:30 a.m. – welcome remarks, rules and team role call9 a.m. – sponsor introductions10 a.m. coding starts12 p.m. – lunch3 p.m. – snack6 p.m. – code stop6:30 p.m. – demos8 p.m. – awards & closing remarks

Rules:

All hacks must be built on site during the hours of the Hackathon.Hackers may not leverage developers who are off-site.Code stop is at 6 p.m. sharp, all developers must stop coding at that time.All intellectual property created remains with the teams.Teams can be anywhere from 1-4 participants.

Judging & prizes:

Teams will have 3 minutes each to present their hacks.Sponsors will judge and provide their own prizes.A judges panel will rate each presentation for the overall awards.

Grand prize eligibility:

With the Travel Channel as our title sponsor, it's only fitting that eligibility for the grand prize be that an app have some kind of travel oradventure aspect to it. So dust off your location based skills and seek out some APIs that put a sense of adventure into whatever it isyou plan to develop. Travel and adventure is not required to be eligible for other sponsor prizes, but your shot at all the marblesdepends on it.'

How to participate:

As this is an official event on site at The 2013 International CES, all participants must be registered for the conference. The hackathonrequires no entry fee, however, the CES conference is currently $100 and increases to $200 on January 2nd.

1. Register for CES (you will be prompted to opt-in for the hackathon) 2. Our hackathon team will contact you to confirm your participation 3. Arrive at The Venetian at 8am on January 9 4. Have fun!

That’s a wrap for 2013!

Much fun was had in Vegas and fortunately what happened inVegas had legs in the form of cash and prizes. 32 teamsstarted the day and at the end, 25 teams made it to the twominute demo.
