Table Tennis 101 (Gr. 3-8)Your instructor for Table Tennis is Wei Qi, a former player on the Beijing Professional Table Tennis Team. He originally came to the US to train players for the 2012 London Olympics Team. Table Tennis is good for the body, mind, and soul. This complex physical activity is benefi cial for the player in more ways than one. Table Tennis can effi ciently develop a great number of skills, like fl exibility, strength, speed or endurance, as well as building motor skills. In this class, you will train with Wei Qi to learn the fundamentals of Ping Pong, do some technical training with multiple-balls and other fun drills and activities, including physical training. Minnesota Xtreme Cheerleading

(Gr. K-6) PCheerleading is a high energy activity that

involves aspects of dance, gymnastics, and acrobatics,

and it’s one of the fastest growing activities in the world. This class is for

individuals who would like introductory training in cheerleading with experience ranging from beginner to intermediate. We will work on all areas of cheer including tumbling, stunting, jumps, and motions. Attire for the class is athletic shorts, a fi tted tank or t-shirt and athletic shoes. Bring a water bottle and shoes you plan on participating in. Hair should be up in a ponytail. No jewelry should be worn. RFSC Learn2Skate (Ages 6-12) PBeginning ice skating lessons will be off ered for our newest skaters. These classes focus on having FUN on the ice while safely learning basics movements and fundamentals of skating. Instructors use the Learn2Skate USA curriculum, which is sanctioned by U.S. Figure Skating and USA Hockey. Skate rental is available for $2 per lesson. It is strongly recommended that participants wear a helmet. A basic bicycle helmet works well. Riders must wear long pants, hard-sole shoes or boots, and bring your own helmet or use one of ours. In case of rain, class will be held in an indoor arena. grades 3-6 currently enrolled in any public, private, or home school in the greater Rochester area.

Before the science fair, think of a topic that interests you and then do an experiment at home to learn more about it. Explain your experiment

with pictures, words, and graphs on a display board. Bring your board to the Science Fair to explain your project to the reviewers. You’ll see a fun Science Museum of MN presentation and receive a certificate of participation, written reviews of your project, and a cool T-shirt!

Registration InformationPrompt registration is encouraged as space is limited and classes may fi ll quickly. Additional class times may be added if needed. Please call Community Ed at 328-4000 with any questions regarding class openings.Class Cancellation Policy Prior to Start DateClass cancellation must be made a minimum of one week prior to the class starting date for a full refund (unless otherwise noted). If you cancel with less than a week notice, prior to the fi rst class, you may be issued a refund minus a $5 processing fee and any costs incurred (including supplies, food, and salaries). No refunds 72 hours prior to class start date.Class Withdrawal Policy After Start DateYou may withdraw from classes of three sessions or more after attending the fi rst session. You must notify the Enrichment Offi ce, 328-4000 of your intent to withdraw prior to the second class. Unless otherwise indicated you will be issued a prorated refund minus a $5 processing fee and any costs incurred.Inclement WeatherIf Rochester Public Schools are canceled for the day, all Community Education day and evening classes are canceled. If school begins late, Community Education classes will not meet in the AM session. Classes that begin at noon or after will be held.If school dismisses early, all after-school Community Education classes are canceled. A decision about evening classes will be made by 3 PM and posted on the Weatherline.If school is not canceled, but the weather is hazardous, evening classes may be canceled by 3 PM. When picking up your student from class, please be prompt, as additional supervision is not provided after class.
