Background Note The phenomenon of Globalization is increasingly making the world a global village, where trade or business happens across countries with very few trade barriers. Internationalization of Business has become an imperative for businesses which seek to take advantage of the global market. The course International Business aims to provide an understanding of how pressures exerted by the differences in socio-cultural, political, and legal frameworks of different countries affect the basic functions of marketing, finance, production, and human resource management. B. Learning Outcomes of the Course: Upon Completion of this course, the students – Will be able to understand the elements of the international business environment with respect to socio-cultural, economical, political and legal environment and its impact on the business organization at a primary level. Will be able to comprehend at a basic level, the global business management strategies with respect to international entry and expansion, strategic alliances, organization structure and control and marketing. 1.
