• Real emotions with real people is the only way the audience can relate with this documentary. We aim to demystify the entity that is Kenya’s Central Bank.

• With this is mind, the documentary will begin with short sharp comments from the people who are integral to the running of the CBK.

• From these comments we will see a busy Nairobi road. Downtown is preferable. Here we see moving, business happening, both big and small.

• It is here where the audience is given the sights and indeed the sounds of a bustling metropolis that is the heartbeat of a country and a region.

• The voice over begins: The story is about the history of money and economy in Kenya.

• We see old photos of The Central Bank of Kenya as well as historical bank notes over the years.

• We are given a visual tour of the central banks history. This will be brief as our focus is not the past, but the present and the future.

• Our main focus is not to dwell on the past, but to rather highlight how Kenya has grown in relation to economy, finance and business, and how much further Kenya can grow thanks to the involvement of the country’s Central Bank.

• Through the eyes of the most important members of the CBK team.

• It is however, vital that we also educate our audience on the role of The Central Bank. We must demystify the CBK and humanize it’s role.

• So how do we do this?• Yes, we certainly speak to the decision makers,

but we must also speak to the ‘lesser-known’ members of The CBK team.

• Those individuals that make it happen on the ground. Lets call them; “the regular folks”.

• We want to show the audience just how much work happens behind the walls of the CBK and how that work is part and parcel of a vibrant economy and progressive country.

• The story will be told from the point of view of the interviewees. Using their comments to tie a wonderful story together. A story that both inspires and educates.

• From the money counting, to the courier’s, to those who focus on BIG BUSINESS and small business. (Think Fisherman to CEO). From the HR deparment to the research department.

• The story will flow from department to department, city to city and town to town. Our transitions from one city/town to the next will be done showing sights and sounds of what makes that particular city/town unique.

• This will help to create a national pride on the basis of Kenya’s Central Bank, by showing their human face across the country.

• Our story will be a combination of voice over and interviews. The two will combine to tell The CBK story, about where we as Kenya hand in hand with The CBK and where we are headed.

• The interviewees will answer only relevant questions to their role. The Governer, will be the main interviewee, but his comments will most be used to complement those made by various individuals throughout the organization. (Ie. If he is talking about employee pride, we will then speak to members of The CBK’s HR department)

• Some areas of particular interest to the audience would be;• -Security• -Money Counting• -Strategic Management• -Currency Centers, Nationwide • All departments however, will be used to tell “The CBK Story”

Lighting will be clean and bright so we show a fresh and vibrant side to The CBK. This will be used to subtly give an air of fun to the documentary and to remove any “black clouds” that hang above The CBK. Giving the film a sense of freedom.The grade, we feel, should be fully saturated and rich and contrasty, bright and rich. (See next page)

• Similar to lighting, for interviews, the camera would use a lot of long lens shots, giving our interviewees space to move around and offering a glimpse into their environments.

• This will be combined with close-ups of interviewees, which help in delivering emotion and excitement. In other words, our framing will be tight on expressions.

• Interviews will be stylized beginning with a video portrait shot of the individual as the interview begins, and then cutting with a flash to the talking head. the portrait shot would be framed left, with the individuals bio data appearing on the right, including name, age, position and city/town. This will be accompanied by a short quote or statement in text (see next page for examples)

• Wardrobe request would be something that is representative of the organization and job, but also something that has subtle colour and trendiness.
