Additive and technology for bright nickel coating


The electrolyte solves the problem of purifi cation of the nickel plating electrolytes from iron impurities. It is designed for the deposition of bright protective – decorative nickel plates. As a result of the introduction in the solution of a special stabilizing additive, the iron ions are bound into a soluble complex and are co – deposited with nickel without any negative effect upon the properties of the plate. Thus a continuous self cleaning of the electrolyte from ferrous and ferric ions is achieved.


The plates are bright within the cathodic current density range of 0.1–10 A/dm2.The levelling effect of the electrolyte is high enough and reaches approximately 70 %. The throwing power is very good thus offering a possibility to plate articles with elaborate profi les. The plating rate is 1 micron per minute at current density 5 A/dm2 when using air bubbling and 0.15 microns per minute at 1A/ dm2 under barrel plating conditions.The technology is very convenient for bright nickel plating directly onto iron surfaces.
