Performance at every level will be

entirely influenced by the quality

of the saddle fit.

By definition: ‘The saddle must

disperse the weight of the rider at an

acceptable level of pressure over an

acceptable area of the horses back’.

We recommend without exception that all saddles are fitted by an experienced, qualified saddle fitter to ensure true potential of your horse is gained through maximising comfort, balance, stability and freedom.

Regular observations by your qualified saddler of the following points, will ensure your horse is comfortable and will guide you when your saddle requires attention by your saddler.

The purpose of the saddle tree is to distribute the rider’s weight evenly over the acceptable area of the horses back.

1. The arch of the saddle in front must never contact the wither.

2. The rigid part of the saddle (tree) must always be clear of the shoulder blade.

3. The panel at the rear must not contact the horse past the last (18th) rib.

4. Always see clearance through the length of the saddle gullet.

5. Ensure the gullet is wide enough to avoid sideways pressure on the spine.

6. The panel filling must always have a springy feel. Never hard or lumpy.

7. The points of the tree must lay parallel to the firm contact of the horse.

8. The saddle must be balanced to evenly distribute the rider’s weight over the acceptable area of the horse’s back.

9. The panel contact should be even on the horse through the length of the saddle.

10. Keep records of changes of your horse’s weight, fitness and maturity.

11. Observe the attitude of your horse whilst tacking up and during work.

1. Legend Girth The classic Legend girth is shaped at the front ensuring freedom of movement for the horse. Heavy duty elastic at both ends allowing even pressure for ultimate comfort.

2. Humane Girth The Humane girth has been designed without elastic to equalise the pressure across the girth straps. Offering ultimate comfort to the horse with extra latex across the whole girth. Shaped at the front ensuring freedom of movement for the horse.

3. Long GirthHeavy duty elastic at both ends and shaped to allow freedom of movement for the horse.

The Legend and Humane girths available in size 18” - 36”, the long girths available in 40”- 60” with stainless steel buckles in black, dark havana, chocolate or caramel.

4. Slip on Stud Guard Lightweight and easily attached to any girth. The neoprene has a springy padding whilst being non-absorbent with smooth edges in direct contact with the horse. One size only. Available in black or brown.

5. Wrapped Stirrup Leathers Super soft calf, non-stretch, wrapped stirrup leathers. Incorporating nylon for extra strength. These non-stretch slim-line leathers offer ultimate comfort under your leg. Also available as traditional oak bark stirrup leathers hand stitched with nylon reinforcement for extra strength.

All stirrup leathers available in size 54”, 57”, 60” or 63”, with stainless steel buckles in black, dark havana, chocolate or caramel.

6. Headcollar Hand crafted leather headcollar featuring a padded head and nose and half rolled across nose. Fully adjustable with brass fittings. Engraving on request. Available in Cob, Full or WB in black or brown.

7. Lead ChainHand crafted leather lead chain with brass fittings. Available in two styles. The Newmarket style incorporates a quality double chain, perfect for a trot up and the single chain style perfect for every day use. One size only. Available in black or brown.
