    All activities that direct the flow of goods and services fromproducer to customer are classified as marketing concerns.

    Essential to all businesses are customer identification and creating

    the offering to respond to the customer. This requires

    consideration of research, product design, packaging, pricing,

    distribution channels, marketing communications, selling, and

    service.

    The concentration in marketing is designed to familiarize

    students with the marketing process and to give them thetheoretical concepts, skills, and tools to enter and to advance

    successfully in any one of many possible career paths in marketing

    research, marketing communications, retail management, or sales

    management.
