Welcome to our September 2020 monthly newsletter Well, what an usual year it’s been so far!! Just when we thought things were getting slightly back on track and we were allowing visitors to the Home on an appointment basis only to see their loved ones; Sarah back at the helm from being on furlough, once again we are now having to only allow essential visitors into the home due to the increased number of COVID cases rising. We do encourage however relatives and friends to call, write letters /cards and facetime you. Please encourage them to leave parcels for you at the front of the house and we will bring them to you. Our main priority is keeping you all SAFE and our staff SAFE too!!

Welcome to our September 2020 monthly newsletter

Well, what an usual year it’s been so far!!

Remember….. “Cough and sneezes spread diseases”

Please remember to cover your mouth when coughing

or sneezing and try to stay 2 metres apart as per

government advice.

We had a new lady come into the Home called Renetta who got the residents moving to chair exercises but Hayley has now taken over this – watch out one and all - Hayley is in the room!!

Ann the hairdresser has now returned on a weekly basis - as we all know our hair needed pampering desperately so she was in great demand and warmly welcomed.

There is a McMillan fund raiser on 25th September which we are hoping to be part of with the staff and residents.

Hayley will shortly be starting a weekly ‘shopping trolley’ for toiletries etc – make sure you don’t miss out on the things you need

We are also planning a BBQ before the end of September whilst the weather holds – bangers & burgers here we come!!

We have celebrated several residents & staff birthdays during lockdown – In August we were extremely pleased to be able to celebrate Doreen’s 101st birthday which we did outside with live entertainment by Goldcoast Entertainment -

everyone was rocking and rolling – staff included. A thoroughly wonderful afternoon at castle House with drinks and a buffet

We love to celebrate birthdays, especially when there is cake involved! During September was Val’s, Pam’s Sarah’s, Jackie’s, Jemma’s, & Carol W

Unfortunately, due to these unprecedented times we are all facing we cannot book/confirm anything at the moment but watch this space – if we can - we will!!

In the meantime, ‘for your little grey cells’ as Hercule Poirot would say – see how many flower words you can find – can you find more than 10??
