So, I don't think that it was intentional on anybody's part for any9 of it so.

And we thought that the cars are following us from my24 attorney's office were media.25 ASB Yeah.

CA Because there's a media van that followed us and another van that went with2 them. So, we're thinking, oh shit here we go.3 ASB Uh-huh. (Affirmative)4 CA It's happened before. It happens every day.5 ASB I know it does.6 CA So.7 ASB I know it does. I'd like to make it stop happening to be honest with you.8 CA I would too.9 (Chuckle)

I was afraid that some of what I said to them probably offended them19 because I told them that if I find out something that you don't want to hear.20 CA Uh-huh. Well, to some extent it's comforting to hear you say that because it was12 never my intention to piss anybody in your family off.13 CA Yeah.14 ASB You know I'm not in it to get a conviction, I get nothing out of it. ASS Tends to be when attorneys get involved.2 CA I've heard most people say that. They don't like attorneys very much.3 ASS I had, I had many family members that are attorneys I have no problems with4 attorneys. What I have problems with are at some point.5 CA Uh-huh. (Affirmative)6 ASS We have to set aside the rules and we have to find kids. And you know what?7 So be it that's why I told you in the car. You know if you tell me anything now.8 CA Yeah.9 ASS I'll get up and say, yep I heard it and she's already invoked and we can't use any

10 of it. That's just the way it is that's all that matters to me.11 CA Yeah.12 ASS And ah, you know when we did, did the another case that I was involved in. You13 know they lost a confession. And I sat there and I looked right at the guys that14 we worked with I said ..15 CA That's not what's important.16 ASS ...who caress.17 CA yeah.18 ASS we found her. We found her and he's gonna get what is coming to him that's not19 my job.20 CA Uh-huh. (Affirmative)21 ASS You know. And it works out in the end. It works out in the end on all sides.22 CA Uh-huh. ASB But I've done things that if I get caught for. I'm not gonna I'm not gonna be2 comfortable I can tell you that.3 (Laugh)4 ASB It's just the way life is. You know but it's not the end of the road either. I've never been in this part of the building so I...

Well, my mom wasn't aware that there was a21 camera in the room I guess when she met with Melich and I forget who else.22 And the big interviews that were released to the media and she was infuriated.23 ASB Uh-huh. (Affirmative)24 CA You would think that that's something that you know you should've told. But you25 don't have to be.

ASS Right.2 CA (laugh)3 ASS The law is the law.4 CA Yeah.5 ASS And I will play within the rules of the law.6 CA Yeah.7 ASS If.. if it's a tool that's available to me that I can use later to look back on and see if8 I missed something or could I have done something better. I'm gonna take9 advantage of it.10 CA Yeah exactly.11 ASS I would assume that this place probably has one somewhere ...12 CA Oh easily.13 ASS ...around here.14 CA It would be something that records audio so either way.15 ASS Yeah. But ah, like I said I have loyalty to one person in everyone of these23 cases and it doesn't happen to be anybody I'm interviewing usually.24 CA Understand.25

ASS It's not a, it's not a slight on them. You know dealt with many different people. In2 many different positions.3 CA Uh-huh. (Affirmative)4 ASS None of which are comfortable and those things always get in the way that you5 have on your .. hands.6 CA (No verbal response).7 ASS you know. Such are the rules that we work under.8 CA Yeah. Here's my question.9 ASS Sure.

10 CA Um, I know this is a question that a lot of people have asked. The grand jury and11 all that is suppose to be secrete. Sut it was released to the media right off the12 bat. My dad hadn't even been subpoenaed and that was released. So, I just13 think a lot of that's kind of funny. And the fact that they invited the media in when14 they were releasing the decision. My mom had received a text message from15 someone ...16 ASS Someone in the media.17 CA ... in the media. Yeah.18 ASS Saying they're (Inaudible) ... all of a sudden they make the decision. We're19 thinking, are you serious?20 ASS There are rules.21 CA Uh-huh. (Affirmative)22 ASS I am quite sure that one of the rules that was followed was that when the decision23 to indict has been made.24 CA Uh-huh. (Affirmative)25 ASS Um, that part of it is public.

CA Yeah that part's public.2 ASB And they can let the media into the courtroom at that point.3 CA Yeah.4 ASB I bet this is just my bet. I don't know what the Florida rules are I'm ...5 CA Uh-huh. (Affirmative)6 ASB ... more federal stuff familiar with that.7 CA Yeah.8 ASB But what I bet is that it was done under seal.9 CA Uh-huh. (Affirmative)

10 ASB And there was no names and no official charges probably read aloud.11 CA Uh-huh. (Affirmative)12 ASB It probably just was there's been an indictment received in a case and that's it.13 CA Well, when the media was out there all day and they knew about this a week ago14 that it was going to happen.15 ASB Yeah.16 CA So it's just kind of funny. It's suppose to be a secrete. And ...17 ASB The .. the ...18 CA .... everything was ...19 ASB ....the happenings ...20 CA ... releases.21 ASB The happenings are secrete.22 CA Uh-huh. (Affirmative)23 ASB What takes place within the room is secrete.24 CA Yeah. But as far as when it actually is convened and you know pulled together25 and the witnesses and stuff like that that's not all suppose to be secrete?

1 ASS It depends on how they're subpoenaed.2 CA Okay.3 ASS I mean if you're subpoenaed under a regular court order. That's a (Inaudible) ...4 CA My dad was through his attorney so I'm not quite sure how that came through.5 Yeah I know ...6 ASS Sut if, but if the subpoena itself..7 CA Yeah.8 ASS ... is just a regular (Inaudible) ...9 CA Yeah certain things ...

10 ASS ... grand jury subpoena, that's11 CA .... are public ..12 ASS ... public records.13 CA Yeah.14 ASS It doesn't say what it[s for, it doesn't say what case it's in.15 CA Uh-huh. (Affirmative)16 ASS It doesn't.. it just says you're subpoenaed to appear before the grand jury.17 CA Well, with them announcing that you know there's gonna be a grand jury and18 obviously my name was thrown out they knew ho the grand jury was for.19 ASS Who threw your name out?20 CA All the media said that it was from an inside source meaning, in here.21 ASS I...22 CA So, that's here they all say it's ...23 ASS I can tell you what I think of the media and what I think of people who leak stuff to24 the media.25 CA I think it's garbage. Yeah I agree.

How was my dad this morning?Um, he had a hard time.Yeah.Honestly.I only saw from the media and got a chance to hear him talking to my mom. Ispoke to him last night and this morning for just a quick second before he left so.Yeah I talked to him this morning for a little bit ah, he was with Mark and yeah hewas really struggling. I mean you can imagine he was having a hard time. Ah,yeah he was being called in to, to essentially provide testimony to indict you.Uh-huh. (Affirmative)At the least. .. and he was really struggling with that.Yeah.And ah, and I felt bad for him to be honest with you I truly did.Well I told him last night I know he was subpoenaed and under the law he had toanswer whatever questions were asked. And I told him to do what he had to doat that point. And if he didn't he'd be held in contempt of court.Well ...I don't want to see that happen so.What'd he say?

he just hugged me and told me that he loved me and I know he was strugglingwith it even last night so.I think it was probably (Inaudible) .. this morning.Yeah. I could see that with the little bit that I saw from the media from thepictures and um, the little bit of footage that they had so.You guys watch it on TV?Oh we watched online a little bit.Really?Yeah. I try to stay away from the TV as much as possible. At least with internetI can scroll through read what I want and than just get rid of it that much fasterso.You anxious about today at all?Um, I have been. I mean this is something honestly we been preparing for fromthe beginning just because of words that were directly spoken from Yuri Melichand also from Sergeant Allen. They were saying that this is what they wereplanning on doing from the very beginning from that first day. So, they wrote meoff within the first couple of hours so.Ah, I don't know if that's true.It was the direct words that they pretty much gave to myself and even they saidthat to my parents. So, I mean I'm not trying to say something derogatorytowards someone. But. ..No, okay. We're just, we're just talking.Yeah.We're just chatting so.

That was the only time they ever made any effort to try to talk to me one on one.And ...Now it's kind of difficult.It was kind of difficult considering.All considering um, obviously in light of everything that's going on and the factthat ...Yeah....you've been arrested for other things makes it a little more difficult to sit downand even talk to you.Uh-huh. (Affirmative)It's not that we haven't wanted to.Yeah.Um, I certainly ...I do have counsel and that's something that you know my attorney's always beena phone call away. And it shouldn't have taken it getting to this point, you knowthree months in.Has ...For us..Has your attorney ever told you that we would like to speak to you?And we had agreed him and I together that we would all sit down together himand I and you guys and you know we entertain ..(Inaudible) .......whatever questions you have and discuss things and ...I actually thought that we made it pretty clear.Uh-huh. That you know we wanted to talk to you. I mean obviously we can't come to youand ask you. But. ..Yeah I understandably....you know I thought that you were aware that if you wanted to talk to anybody/Uh-huh. (Affirmative)That all you got to do was simply ask.Yeah. Well, I know it goes both easy on that and I guess it would've needed tocome from me. I should've been the one to I guess come forward with it. But youknow we did open up that door to law enforcement before. When Sergeant Allenwas making a big deal saying, well we want to talk her. When can we talk to her.He's saying well the door is open.Hm, I don't believe he ever told us the door's open. I mean ...Well maybe not to you directly, but I know to Sergeant Allen I was sitting there,even one of the times that he spoke with him. So, I've heard the words come outof his mouth even myself directed to other people that maybe didn't either relaythe message or took it a different way. So, I don't know. I think the lack ofcommunication has put people in opposite corners when everybody has thesame goal, is to find Caylee.Do you think the matter could've been resolved a little differently?Absolutely in a lot of different aspects. And that's a conversation that I've hadnot only with my attorney, but with my family.Alright.So, I mean we all still feel, I as a mom I know in my gut there's the feeling as aparent you know certain things about your child you can feel that connection.And I still have that feeling that presence I know that she's alive. Whether you

have a bucket load of evidence downstairs that contradicts that and saysotherwise. Or all you have is speculation. Or, or nothing at all. I meanwhatever it is if there's still that chance with all these tips that have comethrough I know that it's been speculated how many thousands of tips have comethrough.There's been a lot.There have been a lot I know I've seen the ...But you also know how many have been ...I know that a lot have been discredited, but..We ran them down and ...Is every ...... and we had more speculation.Has every tip been ...And that's something ...... ever lead been followed up?....
